Dear Studio Owners, Teachers, Dancers and their Families, First of all I hope this finds you all staying safe and healthy at home. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for your patience and support during this difficult time. The outpouring of kind messages and concern has certainly warmed my heart. Thank you. Please know my concern is for all of you. You all mean so much to me and I am so very grateful to work with the studios I do. With so many ...uncertainties this will be an ongoing process, I am very proud of our strong dance community and the kindness and concern for one another. That makes us strong as we work our way through this. Please know I realize each studios situation is unique and I will be working with studios individually to find the best possible solutions for each of you. This will take time to sort through and I thank you in advance for your continued patience. Dancers I hope you are all are starting to create you own new daily routine. Your dance training and discipline will help you succeed with that. It is really important to have a daily routine, so get out of bed, get dressed and have a plan for your day. Surprise your parents and show them your daily routine plan. I promise you will feel better if you do that. We are all so fortunate to have a strong dance community full of amazing people, and we are all so blessed to know the joy of dance. Still to this day, if I am feeling low I turn up the music and dance around my house. lol and no I will not be sharing a video of that, but it always makes me feel better. I would encourage you all to find ways to cheer others up. Dancers get the moms and pops up dancing with you, they will feel better then to. I would love to see those videos hit social media. Try to have a good laugh everyday. Laughter really is good medicine. Remember this is temporary, it is really important we find ways to make the best of it. One day we will celebrate the 40th anniversary we just don't know when yet. Right now first priority must be everyones safety and health . Be the role models for your peers. DANCEWORKS SHINE OLDS MARCH 21 & 22 POSTPONED I write this post with a very heavy heart this morning. Danceworks Shine March 21 & 22 must be postponed with Albertas announcement of taking new aggressive health actions including all organizers cancelling any large gatherings with more than 250 attendees. My heart goes out to every single organizer and attendees of all the events we are witnessing being cancelled. In 40 years of organizing Danceworks/CADF I have never had to ca...ncel or postpone an event. As difficult as this is for everyone it is the right thing to do in these very difficult times. In the days to come we are still hopeful our dancers & teachers talents and hard work will have a chance to shine on stage. However we will have to take this day by day. I will keep everyone updated as more information becomes available.I will be emailing the studios who who were attending the Olds Competition next weekend later this evening. I have faith we will all bounce back from our disappointments and focus on the greater good for everyone. Dancers & Teachers please remember your GRIT. You are dedicated to your goals , passionate , conscientious and exhibit persistence over long periods. In dance we learn to adapt, be proud of all your accomplishments this year and please remember we love all of you.
