Lisa and Dean's wedding plans changed many times this year due to Covid.. Finally a small, safe venue became available. Lisa's father reached out for a custom board. Thanks to Dave Burns for the CNC work. Congratulations you two !
Woohoo! It’s candle season! Preparations are underway for the holiday season. As always we are open by appointment. As well we will be at the @Habitat Restore on Gardiners Rd in Kingston on Saturday November 21st from 10-6, a portion of our proceeds go the Habitat For Humanity. We are also going to be set up @DrugSmart Pharmacy in Sydenham on December 11-12. Enjoy this beautiful fall weather we are having!
Stocking up for the upcoming Christmas Season. While most of our shows have been cancelled our Showroom remains open by appointment. Lots of new stock to come!
We can do custom orders with coins and other items imbedded into the piece and secured with crystal clear epoxy... Maybe a quarter to commemorate a 25th wedding anniversary? They gleam more than pics show. We can up to 2 1/2 diameter... What do think of this option ?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the CFB Kingston Craft Sale this Fall 2020 is cancelled. While we will not be able to see each this year, please make sure... to visit our fabulous crafters on their business pages below and show your support for their amazing talents. Nathan moved from Toronto to South Frontenac a little while ago. New heritage home and new ideas. He had the pin legs, and we had a lunker that suited his needs for a sofa table.. Here’s the results. Thank so much for thinking of us! Welcome to the neighbourhood, hope you enjoy your new table!
Lots of great vendors! Trying to support local during these trying times
Where’s the beef? ... Here’s the beef :)...Remember the 80’s ?... These are a fat and beefy 2 plus thick ! Each would make for a great bench, sofa table or end tables... Perhaps a monster coat rack ? What wood you do??? #hg_frontenac #buylocal #sydenham #homedecor
Was a fantastic time last year...a little different this year but here’s a shout out to Stephanie Newman for keeping this going during such a strange time!!!
Special custom gift: Our good friends, Mark and Paula, sought a unique, meaningful and special wedding gift for a couple who mean a lot them. They came over, picked the board, sized it and selected the type of handles they wanted. They also customized the wordings and size and type of font. Thanks to Dave at Lakewood Custom Live Edge and his huge CNC machine, the wording came to life. We finished it off with classic black epoxy and board butter.... Here are the results... Congratulations Cody and Mary ! We hope you enjoy this piece for many years to come !

This current round of walnut charcuterie boards were finished off this morning.. Just in time for the Home Grown In Frontenac virtual craft show show hosted by the Cheesecakery Bakery on Forest Road on September 19th.. See her page for all the details ! Have a great and safe end of summer !
Sandi (ironically) finished sanding this round of boards this morning... Now the handles have to be affixed (We use the screws and add special glue for additional adhesion strength). Decisions, decisions... lots to choose from...Which handles would you pick ?
DW is going to be very busy sanding and stripping ! (The bark off) ... The 4 finished ones were just custom branded for Linda and being delivered this afternoon... with this fresh stock, You can come to the Kabin to pick your own board and match it with a set of handles (many to choose from) or have finger grabs routed into the ends to make for easy storage... Stay safe everyone !
Yahoo! Fresh stock... (Black) Walnut, our most popular, has been very scarce since this past winter... Now we can get back to work in the Kabin, thanks the Bauman’s Mill. Gary, your logs will hit the kiln later this Fall... Busy days ahead !
Our daughter Katie and her boyfriend Logan recently moved back home, purchasing a house just around the corner.... The reason for the move; Logan was hired by KPF.. The table is a combination house warming and congratulatory gift... Proud of you both! Some of you may recognize the coin.... it has special meaning. Robo gave it to me upon retirement...it is an honour to pass it along to Logan.
Oops...uncropped version:)
Well, Doug’s retirement carry’s on... Cool Board, for a cool guy.. Has finger grabs for a big ass charcuterie board, or can hang on the wall, shelf, or sit as a table runner.. Could also be kindling??? Custom orders accepted for your special occasion too
This piece came off the lathe yesterday.... Turns out that it doesn't function well as a frisbee....Thankfully it was repurposed as a bowl ... 13" diameter, mixed local hardwood with 2 exotics laminated together. No stains or added colourations, just all natural. Finished with our home made, food friendly board butter. While the bowls are not overly popular, they are just fun to do...
Busy times indeed ! Once again Sandi is the employee of the month (30 months in a row, and counting ) These were created in our most common and best value sized boards.... Some are Maple, most are Walnut.. the majority are our most common thickness, while a few are a little chunky ( but hey, with COVID, some of us are chunky too). These will be added to our gallery/inventory album on Face Book depicting size and prices.. Again, we will do safe deliveries within the region, or call us at 613 217 1835 to visit our show room (with a mask).. Thanks for all of your interest and support ! #walnut #charcuterie #Sydenham #handmade

Got a chance to work in the Kabin...five new pieces added to our inventory album....more to come in the near future. Stay safe and healthy everyone!!!
