Dan Harper Photography update: 2020 was a very slow/sad year for many photographers, myself included. Although I did work during the year, it was a fraction of what I have done in previous years. It looked like it was going to be a good year but due to COVID-19, I had two multi-day national conferences cancelled in the first part of the year which continued being a trend.... On the upside, I did the promotional photography for a major national TV show coming out at the end of February 2021. I also have multiple photos in an architectural book coming out in late January or early February. I also sold a large amount of stock photography, but I unfortunately did not sell a lot of prints this year. The larger part of my days where spent taking care of my kids, being their teacher (teachers NEED to get paid more) for multiple months, working around the house and running and biking as much as possible. As for 2021, I plan to get a LOT of new stock photos online on DanHarperPhotography.com (which I will also be updating since the last post was in 1973) And finally, whenever the code red is lifted and it’s safe to go back to work, I really look forward to actually SEEING my clients this year. After seeing so many clients on a regular basis for promotional photography, press conferences and major events they become like family and friends. I’ve come to know them so well over the 5, 10 or more years that I’ve worked with them that I miss them like family. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year! I have so many clients that I used to see as often/feel like family, sadly I didn't see many of you last year but I sure hope to this year. Miss seeing you all and hope you're doing well. Let's have a great 2021!!!

I've been very lucky to have been involved with SO many amazing companies on SO many memorable shoots but a definitive standout is the #Livingflag and #LivingMapleLeaf shoots for Downtown Winnipeg BIZ over multiple years! It involved multiple locations including The Forks Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club And then there was that year that my time-lapse went viral with over 16 million views. EPIC! I've been working for Assiniboine Park & Zoo for almost 10 years now. I was biking through the park with my little guy Jeremy and my mom and saw this sign of some of my shots from last year. Always great to see my shots in use, especially when it's so randomly.

There was a SPECTACULAR #sunset last night in #Winipeg that was so orange it made white LED lights look...wrong. It was so weird. After seeing #Spiderman #running in #Winnipeg #runWpg multiple times over the last couple of weeks around The Forks and the St. Boniface Hospital Research I’ve been trying to get a photo of him. I finally found him today and he stopped for some quick questions. I asked him what he was doing here in #Winnipeg and he told he had gotten out of self-quarantine a couple of weeks ago from #NewYork and is training for the now delayed #ManitobaMarathon. He said I really like the rou...te around the Forks and hospital because there are no lights to wait for. I wear my suit when I run because it makes more people smile than cringe and I’m just trying to bring some positivity in these tough times of #coronavirus #COVID19 Winnipeg Free Press CTV News Winnipeg ChrisD.ca #SomeGoodNews #runWpg Manitoba Marathon He said another interesting thing: he was waiting for more of his superhero friends to join him on his runs to bring even more smiles. I hope they show up for him!
