WOW! WOW! WOW!!! Celebrate teachers!! How? Have them shop at Dani + Madi! Talk about paying it forward! If you haven’t read Dani + Madi’s post on our 8th day of the 12 days of Christmas challenges, I’ve got to mention that today was about paying it forward! Well I sure felt the kindness of paying it forward tonight!!!!... How did they know?! How did they know that on the 8th day of their 12 days of Christmas I needed this more than ever!! As a lot of you know, from watching my stories, this past week has been a struggle. With rising cases, increased restrictions, things closing, emotional highs and lows, running a retail business has been hard! Just when I was feeling discouraged I got the best gift ever! The gift of being part of Wilhauk Beef Jerky’s, owned by my dear friend Amanda and her husband Trevor, 12 days of Christmas. They are truly incredible people and our community is so unbelievably blessed to have them!! They are amazing cheerleaders, supporters of their community and it’s worth mentioning Amanda even got down on her hands and knees to vacuum at the store when we were renovating.......I didn’t even ask, she just did it! I am beyond words at how thankful I am and how much she encourages me to fulfill my dream! And these teachers! A lot of them have now become a friend and I am so grateful! I don’t know what they were told to come to the store, as they didn’t know they were gonna be shopping for themselves, but they showed up! Showed up thinking they were doing something for someone else!! Gah!!!! So awesome!! I was also so lucky to have Terrie Marklinger Sampert and Amanda Wilson help out! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PAY IT FORWARD! Ladies! This one is so fun and so rewarding! Oh, and not to mention, super easy! Last year we had a day where we encouraged everyone to purchase a coffee for the person behind them in the drive thru. This year, we are encouraging the same thing or if you are really up to it, purchase a number of small gift cards, and hand them out to random people. Whether that be people walking on the street or in the grocery store. This morning we went through the Tim Horton...’s drive thru and purchased 10 gift cards for $5 each to be handed out to the ten vehicles behind us. The bottom line is, it does not matter how much or how little. The act of simply buying a random person a $2 cup of coffee is so fulfilling! I’ve had it happen to me and I practically feel like I won the lotto! Lol! And guess what, more often than not, that person who was gifted the card will pay it forward in that moment. SENIOR’S! Today is about the senior’s! There are so many people trying to help out the senior’s in our community and it’s incredibly heart warming!! They are the most vulnerable, during the pandemic, yet are the ones who have contributed so much to this world and have experienced so much of this world. We owe it to everyone, but mostly to the senior’s, to give them the most comfortable, best life to live.... I have done a lot of research lately and what a lot of people might not know is that some senior’s struggle to buy themselves the simple necessities of life. Such items as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotions, etc. This is overwhelming and mind boggling to comprehend. As a result, today is about donating even the smallest of items to the seniors in your community. There are several individuals collecting the necessities and delivering it to a local senior’s home in their area. Our challenge for you today is to pick up one bottle of lotion, or three, or toothbrushes, toothpaste, and all the things and bring it to Dani + Madi at #6, 280 King Street, in Spruce Grove or take a picture of you delivering a care package, safely, to someone collecting for a facility in your community. A care package can include a toothbrush, lotion, deodorant, other toiletries. It can be one item or a few. Every little bit counts.
