The Ottawa Valley is in desperate need of a service to help low income individuals and families prepare their income taxes. There is a program run through the Canada Revenue Agency that offers this service free of charge through the service of volunteers to provide free income tax preparation. The limitation of this is those who make less than $30K individually, or less than $40K as a family. I am currently offering a service for those who may not fit into that category, bu...t want to do more. There is currently no location in Pembroke or Petawawa registered with the CRA. I am currently in the process of registering as a volunteer and organizer, but need an office space to use. From what I understand, Carefor has put this on in the past, but do not seem to be registered with the CRA’s website. Carefor Health & Community Services - Pembroke-Renfrew County please correct me if I am wrong - and if so, let me know how I can help! Otherwise, I am putting out the call now to any non-profit location that might be willing to help with this volunteer effort. As a trained, experienced Chartered Accountant, I have an advanced level of skill that goes above and beyond what is required to fulfil this need.
