Replace door handles and cabinet hardware, make sure closet doors are on track, add a fresh coat of paint, do some decluttering, and perhaps invest in a little (or a lot) of staging. Anna Szenes - February 9, 1921 - January 4, 2021 My grandmother was an incredible woman. A holocaust survivor who lost almost her entire family during the war, she married and had two sons. She and her husband and their children escaped during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 in the back of a truck - eventually arriving in Canada. Widowed at a very young age she was tasked with raising her teenage boys alone. Working in a country and trying to survive while raising her two s...ons. Only when her grandchildren were born did she begin to enjoy life and love again. Her love for us was boundless and constant. She was there for me every step of the way in every way possible. She would take 3 busses to bring us a hot lunch in the middle of winter at school. She protected us from our parents. Safety and love were always available to us at any time on any day because she made us her world. She taught me how to love unconditionally, to cook, to be affectionate and compassionate. Her love for me and support of me helped me survive my childhood and beyond. When my children were born she was with each of them at every important event and there for them always. She moved to Toronto after my third was born because she couldn’t bear to be away from them for any extended period of time. She became an enormous part of their life in Toronto and the relationship that she had with them was extraordinary. My older two called her regularly and visited her as often as they could, even when they left for university. The bond between them was something I have never seen. Panni - as we all called her lived and breathed for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. While just short of 100 years, we will never feel we had enough time with her. She will be profoundly missed by all of us.
