So many things to look at for my health and wellness... Where do I begin??? Health and wellness mean different things for different people.... Lowering health risks (heart disease, diabetes) Reducing stress and anxiety Maintaining a healthy weight Being more active or exercising Improving mood Getting more and better sleep Improving the immune system Improving nutrition for energy or resolving issues like IBS Thinking more clearly Being more productive at work Ceasing smoking In all of this, what it means to you is the most important part. Starting with that leads to improvements in the other areas. As a health and wellness coach, I am trained to help people: Articulate what matters most to them See where they want to be with their health and wellness Set goals to get them there Develop healthy habits, that work for them Help sustain those habits Help them stay accountable to themselves throughout the process The relationship I have with my clients is client-centered. I fully believe that my clients, and everybody, are the experts of themselves. Coaching facilitates a self-discovery process for the client that helps them identify their own goals. As a coach, I help my clients build their belief in their own ability to meet their objectives. If this resonates for you, or if you have any questions, please reach out to me, for a no-pressure conversation. You can find my website link and contact info in my profile. Please know that I'm here to help. #mindfullife #wellnesscoaching #determinedtosucceed #mindfulmoments #accountable #mindfulmoment #healthandwellnesscoach #healthcoaches #takeresponsibility #selfdetermination #accountabilitycoach #wellnesscoaches #onlinehealthcoach #weeklygoals #selfimprovementdaily #stayingaccountable #healthandwellnesscoaching #beingresponsible #coachingsessions #weeklygoal #winnipegwellness #winnipeghealth #winnipegcoach

It's never too late to start I've never been enthused by exercise and over the past 8 years had basically done little exercise. One of the concerns for me was staying healthy as I age.... The evidence shows that our lifestyle plays a huge role in how well we age. Our sedentary lifestyles lead to more rapid decline in our health than it could be. A big way to combat this is physical activity. And it's never too late to start. Take Earl Fee, for instance. He is 90-years old. He was a runner in college and then took a 33 year break. He started running again at age 56! And he never looked back. Oh, and he constantly breaks speed records for his age group. Keys to his success? High intensity interval training (getting the heart rate up) Proper nutrition (high in vegetables and adequate protein) Sleep Taking care of the mind and spirit This fits with the evidence of how to maintain health as we age. Last April, everything shut down. I couldn't see my physiotherapist or massage therapist. I needed to take care of myself directly. So, I started doing exercise at home, going for walks, doing strength training with resistance tubing. Little things that just kept building up. Since then, it's built into a daily routine that I do in the mornings. It's the first thing I do when I get out of bed, and I make sure I get it in there. After almost one year of doing it consistently, I feel like I'm in better shape than I've even been in. And I don't plan on looking back either... What is one thing you could do for your physical activity? #wellnesscoaching #evidencebased #healthandwellnesscoach #healthcoaches #takeresponsibility #selfdetermination #accountabilitycoach #wellnesscoaches #onlinehealthcoach #evidencebasedpractice #evidencebasednutition #healthandwellnesscoaching #coachingsessions #evidencebasedfitness #evidencebasedtraining #winnipegwellness #evidencebasedcoaching #evidencebasedhealth #winnipegcoach #evidencebasedresearch

Letting go of the past frees up energy for the future My clients have amazing insight. In a recent session, one of my clients said that their motivation for helping them to get over a hurdle towards achieving a goal was realizing that releasing something that was no longer serving them would free up energy in their life.... That is a brilliant realization. It is so true. This morning, something happened for me along a similar line. Something much smaller, but still something from the past that part of me was holding to. I've had my memère's measuring cups and spoons for decades. Recently, the handle on one of them was starting to become loose. The metal was bending a lot. Today it broke off. In the past, I would have been very upset at this and cried quite a lot (and I mean a lot ). But when this happened today, instead of sadness, I had a feeling of acceptance. My thought was "oh, I can let go of this now". The accompanying feeling of having a little bit more freedom was nice. So, I'm going to say goodbye to this measuring cup and handle, and add it to the pile of metal I have, which I then put in the back lane for the metal collectors (yes, that's a thing here, in case you don't have that in your area ). It's a small change, but every little bit frees up a bit more room. Small changes over time add up to big changes. That's something I'm very grateful for. What's something small that might free up a bit of energy for your future? #wellnesscoaching #walkthetalk #healthandwellnesscoach #healthcoaches #wellnesscoaches #onlinehealthcoach #benicetoyourself #lookingforwardtothefuture #makingspace #movingforwardinlife #lettinggoofthepast #healthandwellnesscoaching #lettinggoishard #releasethepast #lookingbackmovingforward #coachingsessions #pastself #lettinggoofwhatnolongerservesme #winnipegwellness #winnipeghealth #winnipegcoach

Intermittent fasting - fad or fact? Good for the body. Good for the brain. Intermittent fasting has been talked about a lot over the past couple of years.... Body builders were the first for realize they could lose fat and still gain muscle mass by doing it. Research has shown various benefits: lowers inflammation increase the number of synapses in our brain increase overall protein synthesis increase the number of mitochondria in muscle cells increase resistance to stress converts fats into ketones That last part is what you get from the ketogenic diet, though with none of the other benefits of intermittent fasting. Evolutionarily, intermittent fasting makes sense. Before the agricultural society, it was hard to get food. So, those who were successful, would survive and pass on their genes. What have been your diet adventures? I'd love to know! #optimalhealth #wellnesscoaching #healthyeatingideas #healthandwellnesscoach #stayingontrack #nutritionfirst #nutritiongoals #feelinggoodtoday #healthyeatingtips #wellnesscoaches #onlinehealthcoach #nutritionalmedicine #nutritionforlife #compassionateeating #simpleeating #mindfuleatingtips #healthandwellnesscoaching #onlinehealth #mindfuleatingforlife #optimalhealthandwellness
