TCI Sixties Reunion

Announcement for the reunion planned for 2019. Conflicts with booking dates has resulted in a date change. The Transcona High Schools reunion at Nashville's will be Friday, June 7th. More info to follow.

Hi TCI Alumni, hope everyone has had a terrific summer. After the reunion this past June many attendees expressed their appreciation for a great evening of reminiscing, dancing, and general hi-jinx. Many also suggested maintaining our reconnections with future reunion functions. The planning committee has decided to organize another reunion next year, once again in conjunction with the Hi Neighbor celebration that would likely be the first weekend of June. We are considering the Thursday prior to Hi Neighbor weekend at Nashville's event centre. This time we would extend invitations to all Transcona high school students (TCI, MM, and PET) for all years up to 2000 (a 20th century reunion!). I'll be sending emails to all attendees of this year's reunion that I have addresses for but would encourage anyone reading this to spread the word.

Looks like the planning group is meeting again to consider another TCI get-together. Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to join up. The planning is definitely not onerous but more fun than work. More ideas make for a better event. Hope to see you there! Copied below is Hank's email with the info. Hi all ... One of the committee members stopped in at Canad Inns to thank Jay the manager for the great evening. Got to talking about what’s next and we came up with an idea. On the Thurs before Hi Neighbor next year we can use Nashville’s for a private function it is normally closed on Thurs. it could be in the format of a social but they would do all the work .The only charge would be for music man, room rental, and the lunch. Ten dollars per person. They would print and sell the tickets or people could buy them at the door. We would just email everyone .I will forward his email with all the details just as soon as I receive it. Any opinions.

Wonderful time at the reunion Saturday night. My class of '72 was well represented as can be seen in this photo of many who attended. The organizing committee had some fun times at our many planning meetings as well. Thanks to L'Arche Tova Café for the terrific service during our meetings.

The reunion social last night was fun, fun, fun!! Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such a resounding success. I especially enjoyed watching the unmitigated joy of people reconnecting after so many years. Thanks again everyone. As expected, it proved to be a blast! See you all next time.

The meet and greet at the school last night was awesome. Saw many people I haven't seen in years. Unfortunately (as expected), I didn't have time to talk with many at great length but it was wonderful to see so many classmates. Hoping tonight will afford more time to extend the terrific conversations abreviated last night. Over 240 alumni will be attending tonight. It's gonna be a blast!... Cheers

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion next Saturday. I'm excited to know so many of the folks I haven't seen in ages have bought tickets. Some I haven't seen since high school! Don't forget about the meet and greet/tour of the school on Friday night. No ticket needed on Friday. Tickets for the social on Saturday will be available on Friday night for those who haven't decided yet too. See ya there!

The meeting with Canad Inns went well yesterday and with the recent surge in ticket sales (and the large number of previously sold tickets), we have decided to rent all three of the Ambassador Rooms for the party. This means there will be plentiful room for tickets to remain available up to June 1st. It's gonna be great seeing long lost friends again. Don't miss the Tango dance off challenge. Viney probably shouldn't have questioned my dancing prowess. See you all there!

We're meeting with the venue representative to finalize numbers etc for the reunion on Thursday morning. Not sure when ticket sales will be cut off after the meeting but I hope everyone who wants to rekindle old frendships has their tickets. So far the response has been terrific with more attending than anticipated. It's gonna be a blast!

Looks like we'll be cutting off ticket sales a little earlier than expected. Late next week we meet with our venue representative to finalize the rental agreement and provide a head count for room set-up and night lunch, etc. There are still a few tickets remaining but availability will be becoming limited. Still sitting on the fence? It's gonna be a blast! Tickets are selling well and people are looking forward to hooking up with old friends again. Don't miss out. High power reading glasses will be available upon request. Comfortable couches for intimate conversations positioned far away from stereo speakers (arrive early for premium seating). Large printed name tags and many other party favours. I am developing a Geritol/Metamucil Punch both alcoholic and non for those of us with dietary concerns. Ok...enough with my attempts at humour. This will be a terrific opportunity for TCI students to party together again. It'll be like grad without all the angst! See you there.
