11 years ago today our young man was up for the fight of his life and he survived! Brain tumour #1 was removed after a 14 hour life threatening surgery. It stil...l lays so fresh in our minds as we see the daily struggles Peyton has to go through! Relearning how to operate his body, countless hospital visits, 11 surgeries, being sedated 49 times, the mental health depression and suicide and oh ya...the jerks he deals with daily that don’t give him a chance but instead make fun of him! But this hero of ours has not given up because of the ones that believe in him and has given him a chance He doesn’t stop believing and fighting he won’t give up. Everyday is almost hard to get through but himself and the family do it because if anything we appreciate the chance to wake up and have another day! Thanks to those who recognize Peyton as an amazing young man. Peter at Nitza's Pizza for the job opportunity and we will forever be grateful to Logan Cyca for taking him on like his brother and getting him associated with the Sherwood Park Kings Athletic Club. The Sherwood Park Peewee Aces will be participating in the Drive for Dave Semenko this Saturday. They will be collecting used sports equipment on Saturday from 11am to 1pm. This equipment will be donated to low income families in the Edmonton area. They kindly ask you to see if you have any of these items and the kids will come by and grab on Saturday. You don’t need to be home we can grab from your porch. The team will then be driving straight down to drop off at Sports Central. Comment below or PM your address to arrange pick up Saturday. After 85 long and laborious hours, the World’s Longest Baseball Game has come to an end but the impact it has made for cancer patients will continue for years... to come. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, and the sweat, blood (literally!) and determination of our players, the World’s Longest Baseball Game raised an INCREDIBLE $460,000for the Curecancerfoundation in support of life-saving research at the University of Alberta. Thank you to everyone for your help in achieving this home run for cancer patients, especially The Dianne and Irving Kipnes Foundation for generously matching every donation made, up to $250,000!
