I'm very excited to share that I have participated in my FIRST podcast! Tiana at The Part-Time Jungle was gracious enough to invite me on and we had a great conversation about parenthood, working from home and one of my biggest screw-ups as a parent. At 30 mins long, it's a nice short listen, so check it out! https://www.theparttimejungle.com//e027-the-fatherhood-wo/

Boy has the time change messed with our kid's schedules. Anyone else? It's as if my toddler and 15 month old don't know that 5:30 a.m. isn't an appropriate time to wake up! If you're in a similar boat, here's some sleep tips for both moms and dads! https://dashingdad.ca/6-sleep-tips-for-new-dads/

The Dashing Family has just gone through the long, stressful process of finding childcare for our kids when Jane heads back to work. If, like us, you are looking or will be looking for childcare in the future there are a LOT of choices and that can make it overwhelming. I put together this blog post as a starting point to set you on the path to what will work best for you and your family. https://dashingdad.ca/finding-the-right-childcare/
So I made a thing. After nearly seven years of being a dad and writing about it every step of the way, I noticed that people were still surprised that dad blogg...ers are a thing. It's not that we don't existit's just that there are so few of us in the parent content circuit that it can be hard to cross paths with us if you're not trying to find us. And when I saw sites from 2012 in the top ten results for "Canadian dad bloggers" on Google, well... I figured something had to be done. And so I did the research and came up with what I believe is the most exhaustive list of Canadian dad influencers out there. We're here. We're real. We're changing the conversation. I hope you find it useful!
I think these are great. What do you think? Do they need to go? https://calgary.ctvnews.ca//city-to-prankster-fun-signs-mu
Fall golf is one of my favourites. Not only are there beautiful colours, but you get free drops when you inevitably lose your ball under some leaves haha. Before the snow flies, here are some courses to take the littles out to! https://dashingdad.ca/best-golf-courses-in-calgary-for-kids/ ... #golf #kidsgolf #golfyyc See more
Winter is, sadly, coming. Since it's entirely likely outdoor activities might be the only thing that keeps us sane, I put together a list of the best sleds you can buy online. Personally, we use the Pelican and love it! https://dashingdad.ca/best-sleds-you-can-buy-online/

One of the great ways to get outside safely with kids this summer is to go golfing! I've put together a list of the best golf courses in Calgary for kids including Heritage Pointe Golf Club, Blue Devil Golf Club and more! https://dashingdad.ca/best-golf-courses-in-calgary-for-kids/
We’ve been spending a ton of time in our yard lately, if you are as well here’s things to do in your backyard this summer. https://dashingdad.ca/things-to-do-in-your-backyard-this-s/
With summer here I am seeing a lot more traffic to my site from people wondering if their kids can ride Lime or Bird scooters. I spoke with both companies to find out. https://dashingdad.ca/can-kids-ride-lime-and-bird-scooters/
It's summer BBQ season and while I can't eat as much beef as I'd like these days, when I do I want to make sure it's local and high quality. Check out an interview I did with a local rancher and how you can support Alberta beef. #AD https://dashingdad.ca/support-local-with-alberta-beef/ #allaboutthebeef Alberta Beef

With families quarantined together in their homes because of COVID, and kids in need of supplementary activities to keep them busy, KPA has a fun solution for parents in search of a new activity to help keep their kids engaged. KPA has a 30 Day Photo Challenge available for kids that includes story-based photography challenges, access to a positive and inclusive online community hub for kids, and lessons that can be easily integrated into at-home creative time. The challenge ...is aimed at kids ages 8-14, but kids slightly older or younger can also participate. Kids can participate in the daily challenges using any type of camera or smartphone and can showcase and share their photos with other kids in a secure online community hub. With so many families affected financially by COVID, the 30-day challenge has been priced affordably at $20 per child for the full 30 days Want to take part? There has been a recall of some of the geometric climbing domes sold on Costco.ca this year. I've put the complete information in my post. Luckily ours was not affected. https://dashingdad.ca/geometric-climbing-dome/
We're celebrating making it through another week so we're going to be ordering a nice dinner from Starbelly. Want to order out as well? Check out my list of places here: https://dashingdad.ca/calgary-restaurants-breweries-and-co/
Awesome idea The Sprawl!

Thank you to all the new people that have joined over the last month! My name is Matt, AKA Dashing Dad, and I share things to do with your kids and tales of life as a stay-at-home Dad. I’m really glad your hear! This post my wife wrote last month and is a good one for everyone’s newest favourite quarantine hobby - bread making! Thanks again for following along, and if you like what I’m doing please share with a fellow parent ... https://dashingdad.ca/tips-and-tricks-for-making-sourdough/
As our physical distancing time increases and Calgary spring weather continues to elude us, I’m thankful there is awesome programming on YouTube to help the kids pass the time while also being educational. AD: The Solutioneers is The Shaftesbury Kids Channel newest show on their YouTube Channel. These five-minute episodes showcase the adventures of 12-year-old best friends as they design a project for the National STEAM speed challenge. Check it out in my latest blog post! h...ttps://dashingdad.ca/things-to-do-with-your-kids-the-solu/ #ad #sponsored #thesolutioneers
I live in fear of this.
I don't know about you, but unprecedented times, means an unprecedented amount of ordering in. Just in time for the weekend (if that's even a thing anymore) I have assembled a list of restaurants, breweries and coffee roasters that deliver in Calgary. https://dashingdad.ca/calgary-restaurants-breweries-and-co/
Baking bread is taking off, so let Dashing Mom give you some tips! https://dashingdad.ca/tips-and-tricks-for-making-sourdough/
I asked my instagram followers for their favourite songs for dance parties with the kids and this amazing playlist is the result. Give it a follow and let me know what you’d add! https://open.spotify.com//12159165195/playlist/6e9nVuAwUKm
Lol, so accurate.
This is the right move. We've already been avoiding them for a week. https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/calgary-playgrounds-closed-amid-
Due to an overwhelming response on Instagram, Jane has put together the ultimate post of tips and tricks for making sourdough bread AND she's included her famous Sourdough Focaccia recipe (which is literally the best bread I've ever had in my life). Bread baking is a great thing to do while stuck at home. Check it out! https://dashingdad.ca/tips-and-tricks-for-making-sourdough/
A lot of my posts focus on things to do with your kids, however, they feature a lot of activities that get you out of the house and enjoying local attractions and businesses. Obviously now is not the time to be doing things like that, BUT the good news is nature is still open and it's easy to keep appropriate social distancing! So why not check out the Fish Creek Ice Caves? http://dashingdad.ca/things-to-do-with-your-kids-fish-cree/
This is awesome
