I can't believe how busy we have been. I haven't been able to find the time to post any of my projects for a month now! This project is just down the street from another job we did, when they saw our work they decided to hire us too. The cottage is on a lot with soft soil, the small pads holding it up had pushed deep into the soil over the years and the cottage was really out of level, I think it was 5". It was fairly low to the ground so we lifted it 12" and installed new larger pads and then backfilled and sloped the ground to run water away from the footings.

This project involves a very nice custom build home. The front of the house in on bedrock but the back is on soft soil, and over the years the back footings sunk over 5". We removed the skirting walls and lifted it back up level. Then we installed a temporary support in order to repair the existing beam that had a 4" hole drilled through it and another large chunk cut out of the bottom about 24" long by 3" into the bottom of the beam. That beam had been seriously weaken, b...ut we got it all fixed up, then we increased the number of footings supporting the beam to a total of 8. In addition we added an entire new beam between the existing ones to reduce the span of the floor joists to just 8' from 16'. The building was just to heavy for the initial foundation design. Where there were once 6 footings, we increased that to 16 footings, drastically reducing the pressure on the soil. The pictures tell a 1000 words. I look forward to your questions and comments.
