Reasons people Drop Out of a dog obedience class : Each year I post this list of reasons , please remember that I'm not just talking about my dog training scho...ol. They have too much on their plate , dog training is much more challenging than they had anticipated , they don't agree with the training philosophy or techniques and methods , the dog owner is not prepared to put the time and effort into training to achieve results , they rehome their dog , divorce / separation , they don't see eye to eye with the Instructor , the dog owner doesn't want to follow instruction and recommendations , their dog kicks the bucket , the dog owner croaks , too many dogs in the class , they are embarrassed of their dogs behaviour , relocate due to job , their dog gets carsick , their dog has a personality clash with another dog in the class , the training is to physically demanding for the owner , they discover that their friend is training at a different school and they want to go join where their friend is training , the dog owner finds it too difficult to attend with their own anxiety , they are worried about their dogs anxiety level being too high , the dog owner is just a FLAKE and never finishes anything they start , the dog owner didn't realize there was so much homework for them to do and they say they just don't have the time to practice , often people reach a point where they are happy with the level of obedience training they have obtained in the class so quit , the training is not what they expected , someone told them they shouldn't be going to that Trainer so they drop out , the dog owner takes ill or the dog get sick , the dog owner doesn't have the patience to train their dog , they feel the course is moving too slow or not meeting their expectations.
