...trux is what trux is...
This chapter of the Mako Shark II project has come to and end... There may be some background scenery to be added in the future, but the car is planted on the ground, and sits in the sun. Such a stunning auto design... Charcoal and graphite with a splash of 94 octane on matt board.
An in development update of the Mako Shark II project.. It may appear to be nearing a state of completion, but the finished piece will look markedly different from this ''in progress'' shot...maybe...I hope...

While it is totally possible to appreciate the Corvette design with a causal glace, it's not nearly enough time to appreciate the gentle nuances of it's soft curves that contrast starkly with it's sharp edges. An art piece forces the identification and transcription of both... It's a road trip all by itself.
A Phoenix will rest as a Corvette emerges. It will take time of course, but anything of value will.
...a small outtake of the "Little Harlyn" piece
A portrait of my brother done in graphite and charcoal. The background is pure black, but was a little harsh next to the soft graphite tones, so a digital background was brought in to settle it down a bit... Hopefully he recognizes himself...

Some early going on a new piece... I can't give much away, but his birthday is the same year as the car... I hope this helps...

"Through the Eyes of a Child" The previous progress pics of the "Little Harlyn" piece have ended with this, the final update... The piece is complete and is looking rather fantastic. Graphite art has a glow and a presence that simply can not be captured digitally, but Harlyn has a glow all of her own. I hope you can see it...
"A Tribute to a Friend" I met Randy in 1978, but I had known who he was even before that. A big, tall Viking looking dude with a natural, easy going swagger that announced to the world that it was possible to be cool without trying, that being "cool" comes from within, not purchased from a clothing store. He was older than I, and in those years, a 5 year difference in age was significant. For a young punk kid who would surely have benefited from someone older and wiser, I cou...Continue reading

Finishing up with this portrait piece that was started in June. The original intent for it to be, (as was the last Inca Warrior dude piece), an attempt to morph into a looser, less intense/correct style...but after years and years of searching for that elusive realistic look, I find breaking away from it is not as easy as it sounds. This portrait is that of my son...at least he knows now what he's getting for Christmas....and the next couple 'a birthdays...
A quick photosnap of some new work... It's too bad the pic looks nothing like the actual artwork, but I'm sure you'll get the gist of it...
