Just three months ago this butterfly caught my eye ... now there's snow in my garden. Time just keeps passing us by, and we can't get it back, so make the best use of it that you can.
A recently written, unpublished poem on my granddaughter's birthday (the 16th here, but already the 17th in Australia): Emily ‘Twas a brisk autumn day... When she first came our way; A gift to her parents and grandma. A present for grandpa too. Ten tiny pink toes, and A wee turned-up nose, and Her first cry, a song long-awaited; And bright eyes sprinkled with dew. Precious gift to the world, Her hair bouncy and curled, Cherished memories of her as a child. We looked on as she grew. Now far off in a land Where I can’t hold her hand, A woman, on a path of her own. How the weeks, months and years flew.
