Very cool to see this interview on my passion project at work in @peaksfu. A year ago I had no idea if I could make this therapeutic tabletop gaming group thing work. It’s gone better than I expected, and I know can be so much better still. Let’s check again in 2021!

I did an email survey a couple days ago asking how counsellors do self-care. I tend to raise my eyebrows a bit when the term gets thrown around casually, but I figured I’d do my part. Some of the options were time with family and cooking/baking. True enough, this weekend self-care meant rainy day train watching with Amelia and baking my best sourdough to date. A little Game of Thrones to cap things off tonight and I’ll be ready for a full week of clients!

Heard myself saying this today: Your insecurities are luxuries you can’t afford. Is that deep, or cliche? It’s often so hard to tell, especially taken out of context. Just wait til I share the feelings pie metaphor!

I’ve been trying - unsuccessfully so far, as evidenced by the flattest loaf you ever did see on the left - to get into baking sourdough bread from scratch. It’s been a very humbling experience! Fermentation is such a magical process and sourdough captures its magic so perfectly. Hoping one of these two starters can give my next attempt this weekend a bit more life. Stay tuned!
