3 Reasons To Practice Gratitude As an Entrepreneur, my daily life can easily get out of control and force me to lose perspective and my self-control. One of the things I learned that helps immensely when my world is out of control is I practice daily gratitude. ... Here are 3 Reasons on why I choose to practice daily gratitude. It reminds me that the world is a very big place and that me and my problems are rather small in comparison. This gives perspective and shows that I can handle anything. It reminds me that so many other people in the world have it worse than me right now. Again, perspective. Daily gratitude is crucial to practice because when I am habitually grateful, I keep perspective in the moment. And that ultimately means I don’t blow situations out of proportion. Now I can maintain a grateful life and be bigger than my problems with just a few minutes of practicing gratitude daily. I will either meditate, reflect over coffee (my fav ), or write in a journal. Our little Leo is doing great! Every day he makes us smile with his funny little billy goat sounds. I am on constant alert knowing that I might get peed on during diaper changes. Here are 3 KEY HABITS that successful clients have in common. 1. HAVE A GOAL. Not just any goal, but a SMART goal. SMART goals are: S - Specific. Successful clients write down very specific goals. M - Measurable. Know exactly how you will measure your progress. A - Achievable. Believe that you can reach your goal. R - Realistic. I recommend 1-2 pounds/week for fat loss. T - Timeframe. Put a deadline on your goal to you have positive pressure. 2. HAVE A PLAN. Having a plan takes away obscurity and creates clarity. How Becoming A Parent Nearly Destroyed Me. I love being a Dad. Becoming a parent is one of my greatest accomplishments in life. But when the reality of becoming a full-time working parent hit me, my life as I knew it was nearly destroyed. As I transitioned to becoming a parent, my life went from executing daily workouts to skipping most of my workouts because I had no energy. I went from slaying my nutrition plan with precision, to grabbing food on the way home from w...ork because I was too lazy to cook a meal. My life of consistency and order transformed into complete and utter chaos. The worst part was, I was a Personal Trainer and struggling to live the kind of life I was teaching my clients. I was ashamed of what I had let myself become. I mean, how could I inspire my clients if I couldn’t even inspire myself? In just 3 months of becoming a parent, I had gained 16 pounds of unwanted fat and lost most of my strength. I had gone from a Chiseled Trainer to a Dreaded Dad Bod. I had an overwhelming sense of guilt and shame for what I had allowed myself to become. An out-of-shape Personal Trainer! I started with a standard sleep schedule. It was the easiest aspect to change that would elicit the biggest effect. I eliminated fast foods and wouldn’t allow myself to buy anything from a drive thru. No more high cal temptations. I worked out with friends at work to keep me accountable. In just 3 months of healthy habits, I was able to transform myself back into a chiseled trainer! Becoming a parent could have very well destroyed me, but it taught me that I can overcome adversity and showed me how resilient I can be. I believe that on the other side of adversity is a stronger version of yourself.
