I have been honoured to represent the family of Rodrigo Hector Almonacid Gonzalez during this most difficult time. Rodrigo was seriously injured by Toronto Police Service (TPS) officers on November 6, 2015. He died the following day in hospital. The TPS did not secure the scene and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) did not show up at the apartment where he was injured until almost 4 days later. The SIU only put out a media release yesterday - until that time no government... agency had acknowledged the injuries cause by police or the death. Makes me wonder how many other people are killed by police and the public is not informed?
