Just gave the Law Society of BC’s barristers & solicitors oath to our articling student. And just like that, she is a lawyer. Always exciting and a good reminder of the oath all BC lawyers take.

Lawyer Dean P. Davison did a presentation on Friday for security industry professionals in BC on legislation & liability for the security industry arising out of COVID19. Looked at issues arising out of the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, & WorkSafe, as well as common law considerations. Thanks to ASIS Canadian Pacific and all who attended.

It's smart and safety must come first, but the Courts are going to face a big backlog in the (hopefully) near future.
