Do you have a morning ritual? Over the last few months I choose a card from this beautiful oracle deck created by Senses of the Soul to start my day. I randomly select a card and then pontificate about the meaning as it applies to what is going on around me and what swirls in me. I often like to journal my thoughts about it as well. Today, black spruce. In fact, out of the deck's 84 cards, I have randomly selected this card two out of the last four days. Which I conside...r serendipitous. The psychospiritual meaning from the included guidebook: "Black Spruce balances polarities of light and dark; it allows shadow to be integrated into light so we can move forward with strength, clarity and wisdom. Drawing the Black Spruce card can symbolize a need to reflect on your shadow parts and provide them with the love and compassion they need to heal and be free from the shame that keeps them bound. It might also be time to make peace with the wounded masculine. Recognize that dark is merely the absence of light, and it's time to let the light in. Just as light and dark are one, so are all of us. We must see the darkness as a call for light." I feel one of the reminders of this card for me is to go easy on myself and others. To let go of judgement of myself and others. Lately, all this can be challenging in some regard. I also see the card's above message applicable to what is occurring in the world around me. We seem to be caught in a non-productive circle. This needs to change. This card is a reminder that without light, there is no dark. And vice versa. Getting back to the root of finding the balance of light and dark in me will help let the light in for not only me, but then for those around me and further, the World. If we are kinder with ourselves, we are more apt to be that way to others. Let's see the bigger picture. We truly are all one.
