[email protected] 285-9999 For the first time in Ontario, people 65+ years old will be able to get the high dose flu vaccine (Fluzone HD) from Dawson Heights Pharmacy. The higher dose flu vaccine is 4 x stronger than the regular vaccine which helps the immune system have a stronger response to the vaccine. This is important for seniors since our immune system gets weaker as we age and the standard dose flu vaccine doesn’t produce as strong of a response in seniors. For People 65+ years old, the risk of death due to influenza was: 5x greater among those with chronic heart disease 12x greater among those with chronic lung disease 20 x greater among those with BOTH chronic heart and lung conditions Fluzone HD will be available in LIMITED supply so be sure to get yours at Dawson Heights Pharmacy early in the flu season.
