1933 Ford Tanker We have started restoration on the '33 Ford Tanker which has historically been located at YCGC (Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation) headquarters at Bear Creek. We just received new tires for the truck and are looking for a new engine for it. After we get the truck up and running again, it will be sent out for a body and paint job. ... Come check out this old fire engine and more, Monday to Saturday 11am to 5pm at the Dawson City Firefighters Museum!

I had the great pleasure of handing out the Outstanding Youth Achievement Award to Vanessa Oliverio, a very inspiring young woman from Dawson City. I had a chan...ce to combine the award ceremony with our family vacation in Dawson. J’ai eu le plaisir de remettre le Prix d’excellence décerné à des jeunes à Vanessa Oliverio, une jeune femme très inspirante de Dawson. J’ai eu la chance de combiner la remise du prix avec nos vacances familiales à Dawson.

1929 Caterpillar 2ton This 2ton cat was used to pull equipment like the steamer for the Dawson City Fire Department from 1929 up until the early 60s. When it was retired it went to work in a gold mine at Last Chance Creek to haul pipe and supplies until the Firefighters Association bought it back in the 90s. Tony Hanulik from Whitehorse restored the cat and it has been showcased in the firefighters museum ever since.... Come visit us at the Dawson City Firefighters Museum to view this cat and other firefighting equipment Monday to Saturday 11am to 5pm.

1927 International 1.5ton Hose Ladder and Chemical Truck The chassis was bought in 1927 by the City of Dawson and the fire department added the box, ladder and chemical tanks (taken off an old horse drawn wagon) once it arrived in Dawson. This was typical practice for small departments at that time. If you want to find out more about our old (and new) engines and firefighting equipment, come visit us on Front Street (across from the ferry landing) Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm.
