Daybreak In Dixie

The COVID-19 crisis as forced CJAM to close it's doors to it's many volunteer programmers. Archived "Daybreak In Dixie" programs will air during this difficult time. Please hunker down and bear with us and we will be back when the ban is lifted.

Sunday March 8th is International Women's Day and CJAM is celebrating with special programming. "Daybreak In Dixie" will feature the Women of Bluegrass from the early days to the present. Tune in at 8 am for this special program.

Tomorrow's show will feature Flatt & Scruggs at the 1960 Newport Folk Festival, early Bluegrass Diamonds and the Stanley Brothers, followed by the Sacred Song Set, all from the Ken Bondy collection. Since I stumbled on the misplaced copy of Pete Goble's last recording, I decided to feature his songs as recorded by him and many other artists and also a look at Mike Reilly's song portfolio. See y'all at 8 am.

Tomorrows program features Flatt & Scruggs "At Carnegie Hall" and some Cancon the first hour, followed by the Sacred Song Set, some new releases and an exploration of some recordings by performers joining up to produce an album, but not to form a band...the Bluegrass Album Band, The Dreadful Snakes & Longview.
