B O O B S: First of all, breast health in western medicine often lacks treatment. In my opinion, breast health and disease prevention isn’t stressed enough. We are told to massage and check for lumps, but what else can we do? Breast conditions involve anything from:... mastitis- (inflammation of breast tissue often from breast feeding), poor milk production, benign breast cysts, breast cancer, general breast pain, discharge, uneven breast size, or even just sagging. Women who breastfeed are ESPECIALLY susceptible to these wide range of breast conditions. Infection, inflammation, pain, hardness, discharge and lack of milk production are commonly seen while breastfeeding or after breastfeeding. This is because there is a LACK OF FLOW through the tissues (or channels in TCM). When the breasts have a build up of stagnations, the risk of breast cancer increase. Ignoring these stagnations is often a recipe for disaster for the formation of tumours. Acupuncture is one of few effective treatments for breast cancer prevention, for milk production, and not to mention pain and other symptoms that come along with breastfeeding. Herbal medicine along with acupuncture helps nourish and rejuvenate the breast tissue, free the flow of blood and energy to help perk those puppies up. Opening channels and allowing for free flow can also balance and increase breast size. Yes... an all natural boob job . It’s also a safe alternative for those who had breast cancer surgery, as it helps speed up recovery, breaks down scar tissue and rejuvenate what was damaged. Our society today in the west is often blind to the possibilities of treatment regarding breast health. The key to preventing and treating breast disease in Chinese Medicine is to optimize the circulation of Qi and Blood in the breasts. That means always, not just when lumps or intolerable pain manifest. Be proactive, get educated, and give your girls the love they need

Cosmetic acupuncture / Acu-sculpting Over the weekend I was lucky enough to attend a workshop focusing on cosmetic acupuncture and Acu-sculping taught by the one and only, Illya at @aculoft. We focused on techniques that help target cellulite, firm and tighten skin, hair growth, overall rejuvenation and anti-aging. Cosmetic acupuncture doesn’t only have to be solely focused on the face. We also targeted areas such as the hips, thighs, butt, stomach, and breasts. This is ...what makes Acu-sculping so unique because it can also target areas that are though to be untreatable. What Acu-Sculping can do: - firm and lift breasts - nourish breast tissue (great for mothers who breast feed or once did!) - help with scar tissue appearance and pain - melt away stubborn CELLULITE - help tighten sagging skin - firm and lift butt and tights - tighten and smooth areas of the abdomen - stimulate hair growth - reduce signs of aging (wrinkles, sagging skin) - improve overall complexion of the face and achieve a natural glow It was such an inspiring workshop and I cannot wait to start perfecting my technique to one day incorporate this in my practice. Stay tuned!

C I N N A M O N T W I G [Gui Zhi] With Fall approaching, we tend to get sick as we adjust to the cold weather. Cinnamon twig is a warm and acrid herb that helps warm the body, boost your immune system to fight off pathogens, and relaxes tight and achy muscles. It’s one of 5 ingredients mixed in a formula called Cinnamon twig decoction (or Gui Zhi tang). Feeling cold, achy, weak, fever, chills, headache, nasal congestion, stiff neck, and even some sweating are common sympto...ms that we look for when prescribing this herbal formula. It’s also used for other health concerns like respiratory issues and skin conditions. Simply drinking some cinnamon tea, or adding it to your food when you’re feeling achy, cold, and weak can make a huge difference in your recovery. It’s a way to warm your body up from the inside out and kick the cold. Give it up for this spicy herb
