When I took a communications course for nursing back in 2018, my professor told us to "always listen to what you say to yourself". That inner voice drives so many of your thoughts and actions. Quite honestly it was hard to do. She challenged us to listen for a week. And I learned a lot about myself and my own outlook on life. It was hard realizing that my inner voice was not always sweet. You see, we are constantly having conversations with ourselves. And these conversations... can guide our perspective on life, others, and ourselves. Once you truly pay attention to those thoughts, your mental health can change exponentially Now, helping shape your child's inner voice is of utmost importance. Ultimately they will start guiding their own voice someday, but you start the course. Uplift them, empower them, compliment them, cherish them and love them - just like you want to be.
