Good Morning, It is a cool end to our week today! All our chickens have submitted transfer requests to New Mexico Schumpelt chicken coops. And as we brace ourselves for a beauty of a cool weekend today we get to warm up with a very sweet and refreshing reunion as we skip forward to the end of Jacob's life. We see a very happy ending to a hard story, we see that even in his old age Jacob is still just a wee bit tricky! May love and mercy of the king of kings dwell with you to...day and everyday! Rev. On this misty moisty morning when rainy is the weather. We chance upon Rebecca with a problem in her nether. Deep within two children spin and kick, push and prod. Disturbed and perturbed she cries for help from God. He responds, "Within your womb ... two children bloom one hairy and one clever." Good Morning! Today we are looking a story quite a bit further on in the narrative of Genesis. A rather interesting and very different story from the ones we might expect. It is the story of how God provides a wife for Isaac. And in this telling the one person who doesn't have an active role in the process is Isaac himself! But it is still a great story! Today's text is a reminder that God sees us at our most desperate and has a plan that brings hope to our hopelessness. It also reminds us that scripture is full of sinners! It is a passage that invites us to reflect on shame and what it means to cover over shame. And it is a passage that has been misused for centuries. I hope it encourages you today!
