Pro Tip 7 - EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT When you begin hiring your team you need to get contracts drafted between your employees and your business. Pro Tip 6 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY It is incredibly important to protect your brand, inventions and written materials. Think Trademark , copyright and patent. This allows your brand to become identifiable over time and prevents your competitors from using your features in the future. Please speak to a patent lawyer in Canada. . .#patent #intellectualproperty #canadianlaws #businesslaws

PRO TIP 4: GET TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR YOUR WEBSITE. If you are starting your business and have a website ready to go hand in hand, it is important to draft good terms and conditions. Do not confuse this with terms of business. The terms and conditions for the website explain how your website is to be used. It outlines the relationship between you and your website visitors while they use your website. For instance, what users can and can't download/upload, how you use their ...data and process payment through your site and where customers can find your privacy and cookies policy. Without a professional terms and conditions, you will be legally liable for technical problems or customer data breaches that occurred on your website, which are beyond your control. - Do research before you draft one - there are some downloadable ones out there, just make sure you read through and edit where necessary. - Seek legal advice too, on what to add and what not too. Goodluck Sedulous Women! you can also message us if you have difficulties with this. #business #business

PRO TIP 3: GET A TERMS OF BUSINESS DRAFTED When you are starting out your business, we all know getting your product/services for the market you are about to enter or knowing who your customers are and also marketing your product/services to your potential customers are at the top of your to-do list, but drafting a terms of business is very important and should be catapulted to the top of the list. Most entrepreneurs/ new business owners often neglect this part, which could ...impact your business hugely (profit) etc. You need to set things in motion by having written business terms and conditions. This is a great way to protect yourself and your business. They set out the level of responsibilities that apply to you and your customers. Nothing should be left to the imagination. . . #business #canadianstartup #entrepreneurship #innovation

Pro Tip 2 - Business Formation. This goes together with tip 1 if you do not know what that is see the previous post . Structuring your business/startup early on to suit the right business model is important. You need to take into serious consideration the tax law in Canada, the rules of filing annual reports and to what extent you want to limit your liability.... #canadianbusinesslaws #businessmodel #protips
