More details about bonus reason why you should go for it! There is more to it than you think! More information about the contest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFWs96YCzSE Juan: We are a Deaf Spirit theatre collective. Theresa: We just announced a playwright contest - (Deadline is on Nov 30 2020) check the link in our bio for more info on rules! ... Robert: Now we are here to explain more about why and what the purpose of this playwright. Hayley: Yeah What is it? Elizabeth: We feel that there is a lack of plays being written by Deaf playwright. We want to change that. If you are a new or experienced Deaf playwright, please submit your script to us! Robert: As we said in a previous video If your play gets chosen, Deaf Spirit Theatre’s actors will perform your play at three different festivals in 2021! Theresa: Sound Off Festival in Edmonton, Alberta. Elizabeth: Toronto Fringe in Toronto, Ontario Hayley: And Deaf theatre festival in Chicago, IL. Juan: And you will get a Honorarium fee!! Robert: But wait it’s not only that! Here the bonus! Theresa: At Deaf theatre festival (hosting with Deaf Spotlight), there will be several Deaf theatres across North America, performing their theme with six scripts. Each Deaf theatre group will have their own theme, different from our theme. It will be fun and competitive! Hayley: There will be judges and audience voting for TWO best scripts. Juan: Then, the script that wins, will go to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (Rochester, NY) in 2022. They will have actors and a creative team working with this Deaf playwright. If you are the playwright for that script, you get to go and be part of the project working on your script, expanding the play. Elizabeth: Pretty amazing right?? Better check out the submitting information right now!!
