Digital retailing won’t solve your problems. It’s the latest topic that adds to the false belief that only NEW resources can solve today’s challenges. But Michael, all the gurus say that modern car shoppers want an online buying experience.... Ok, but are you equipped to offer and SUPPORT it? C’mon... there are still dealerships that prohibit sales staff from using Social platforms at work! Also, I believe that you already have the resources you need to experience success, it’s just a matter of how you leverage them. Take Uber for example. Did they invent the internet? What about payment processing? GPS technology? Smartphones? Nope nope nope. They assembled resources that already existed to provide a fresh what??? EXPERIENCE! Now there is this example! Qantas airlines is showing what true outside the box thinking looks like, and how to leverage existing resources to meet and overcome today’s challenges.
