The Death & Grief Rites Revival Project 26.01.2021

A great episode - the Grief of Imprisonment. Reverand Bill Engleheart and Richard Carlini are joined by three gentlemen from San Quentin Prison who talk about how they struggled through imprisonment, COVID, the loss of friends and rejoining society. Music can save us.... https://www.unityonlineradio.org/healing/grief-imprisonment

Our effort, I suggest, can be dedicated to this: to assume the unity of Life and Death and let it be progressively demonstrated to us. So long as we stand in op...position to Death we will disfigure it. Believe me, my dear Countess, Death is our Friend, our closest friend, perhaps the only friend who can never be misled by our ploys and vacillations. And I do not mean that in the sentimental, romantic sense of distrusting or renouncing life. Death is our friend precisely because it brings us into absolute and passionate presence with all that is here, that is natural, that is love. . . . Life always says Yes and No simultaneously. Death (I implore you to believe) is the true Yea-sayer. It stands before eternity and says only: Yes. ~ Rilke in Letter to Countess Margot Sizzo-Noris-Crouy Artist: Alexandra Dvornikova @allyouneediswall

On the day when the weight deadens on your shoulders and you stumble, may the clay dance... to balance you. And when your eyes freeze behind the grey window and the ghost of loss gets into you, may a flock of colours, indigo, red, green and azure blue, come to awaken in you a meadow of delight. When the canvas frays in the currach of thought and a stain of ocean blackens beneath you, may there come across the waters a path of yellow moonlight to bring you safely home. May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours. And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, an invisible cloak to mind your life. John O'Donohue /sarah

Dear Grievers, There are those who do not know and who cannot know this deep pain. ... They are afraid of it. They may tell you to ‘move on’. They may tell you its not ‘normal’ to grieve this long. They may tell you it’s part of ‘God’s plan’. Your shattering makes them uneasy. Vulnerable. Some may avoid you, others may pity you. But this is your grief. No one else’s. Yours. You have earned every single tear you shed. Your emotions are yours, even on days you'd wish them gone. Don’t let anyone take grief from you. Through the grief and the love hold your head high, even when you are suffering most. Perhaps, especially, when you are suffering most. Surround yourself with loving others. Give yourself time to feel. Because grief work is not for the faint of heart. And one day, suffering endured will become compassion expressed. - Dr. Joanne Cacciatore Posted originally in January of 2015 If you need help, or resources, or support, visit: www.SelahCarefarm.com www.MISSFoundation.org www.CenterForLossAndTrauma.com https://wisdomexperience.org/bearing-the-unbearable/ ********* Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider Certification The art of grief counseling informed by science www.certificate.missfoundation.org/ ********* Artist William Bouguereau, All Souls Day

A superb and profoundly important dialogue with Francis Weller. "We have to give up the idea of private salvation and the idea of private healing. That’s all fantasy. We either heal communally or we don’t." https://www.kosmosjournal.org//deschooling-dialogues-on-i/
