We’re totally nuts about The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil. This hydrating oil is packed with omega fatty acids and vitamins to help plump the skin and nourish the hair. It is extracted from the seeds (kernels) of Argan from Morocco and cold pressed. The lightweight formula reduces skin flaking and adds sheen to hair, whilst strengthening the hair fiber. Argan Oil is organic and unrefined, therefore containing no artificial fragrances.... Due to this, any scent you may notice is a natural result of the ingredients. Salicylic Acid (we know many of you are fans of this ingredient) is a beta hydroxy acid (or BHA for those who don’t have time to say words), renowned for its chemical exfoliating properties. Similar to its AHA cousin, Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin by loosening the dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin, to reveal more radiant skin underneath. Due to its lipophilicity, Salicylic Acid is capable of minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores and alleviating sig...ns of congestion in the skin that is caused by a buildup of sebum and dead skin. This formula also includes Vegetable Charcoal and Amazonian Clays which further supports salicylic acid in removing facial impurities that would otherwise remain on the skin. Exfoliating the skin is an important step in your skincare routine as this process helps to remove dead skin cells, revealing the radiant skin beneath the surface. However, we understand it can be somewhat confusing to choose the perfect acid for you. If you are a new user of direct acids, we generally suggest starting with a lower concentration before moving to a higher strength as your skin builds up tolerance. That’s where The Ordinary Mandelic Acid 10% + HA comes... into play. What’s special about this formulation is that it’s a superficial alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) with a large molecular weight (152.1 daltons, which is larger than other alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic acid, which has a molecular weight of 76.0 daltons). This larger molecular weight gives Mandelic Acid a lower penetration rate, making it a great option for first-time users. Mandelic Acid aims to enhance radiance and reduces the look of textureall in a gentle, lightweight formula. It’s best applied before oils/creams in the PM, and is gentle enough to be used daily if desired. Direct Acids can be tricky to incorporate into your routine and with so many options, it’s hard to know where to start. Our AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution has gotten so much attention lately, but it may seem a little intimidating. If you are new to Direct Acids or would prefer something more mild, you may wish to reach for The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% or The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10%. Think of this as a more gentle step into the wonderful world of AHAs (and a great alt...ernative to our Peeling Solution for all our South Koreans, Australians, New Zealanders, and Canadians). Inexperienced users of direct acids may wish to explore The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% which is an alpha hydroxy acid that offers mild exfoliation for the skin. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% provides a more high strength formulation great for use once your skin becomes a bit more acquainted. Hi :-) We’ve noticed that some of you may be new to The Ordinary (and us!), and have some questions around your regimens, our products, and their functions (they can be a little confusing, we know). A few bits to note:... We suggest using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single regimen for optimal skin penetration. Generally, we recommend applying water-based solutions first, followed by anhydrous or oil formulations, and finally cream/suspension formulas. If you have more than one water-based serum you’d like to use, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck.
