The Blessed Man. In this present world, blessing is synonymous with power, possession and popularity. People with academic and professional qualifications, land, buildings, thriving businesses and those who have inherited fortunes from parents are often seen as blessed while the poor, powerless and pitiful are called the ‘less fortunate ones’. All the people defined and described by the world as ‘the blessed’ receive their appellation based on their outward appearance and tem...poral possession. Such peoples’ hope is limited to this world. They receive the reward of their labor on earth and leave this world without the indispensable gift of eternal life obtainable through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The word of God, however, defines and describes the blessed man as, he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered; unto whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile (Psalm 32:1, 2; Romans 4:6-8). God is not a man that can be deceived and sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). In the sight of God, the blessed men and women are those who have acknowledged and confessed their sins (1 John 1: 8-10), repented and forsaken them (Proverbs 28: 13), believed and received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior (John 1: 12, 13). God’s blessed people have their names written in the book of life. They also have their hope of all-inclusive blessedness through Christ alone both on earth and in heaven. Are you a blessed man or woman? If you are called blessed by world standard and you see yourself as blessed without having Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are of all men most miserable. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3: 36). Make a decision now to surrender your life to Jesus as He is softly and tenderly calling you so that you and your family may live. God has sent his Son Jesus Christ to bless us in turning us away from our sins (Acts 3:26). Call upon Jesus now by confessing, forsaking your sins, believing and consecrating your life to him. He will bless you with all the fullness of the blessing of the gospel as well as all the spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
