I will have some new posts coming regarding current projects this Fall, but I have this most current piece which is more about the story. For this reason, O am sharing Jeremys post as it is best explained by him. Good luck to Guiness...enjoy your excursions!!

Update on the plant holder sculpture for my daughter.... This is the placement in the dorm room in quiet mode! The pencil holder is empty for the photo...doesnt complement the serene mood.

Deeply Rooted Designs 06.09.2020

Move in is complete, delivery of planter has been safely done... As hoped, sculpture fits nicely, and fills in the corner just right.

It took forever for the Summer to arrive, and now it is just flying by, or rather burning by!! Keep hydrated...and that goes for your property as well. One of the most underrated expenses for your curb appeal....water!

Deeply Rooted Designs 22.06.2020

Sorry for the delay!! Time flies when you dont stop to breathe!! So, I have a new completed project to share. Once an Ash tree, taken down by the municipality and salvaged by the homeowner. Happy Birthday to Rose!! It has been a pleasure!

So looking forward to finishing an ongoing home project and moving ahead to others that await....if we could just get rid of this white stuff. Underneath is where I left off...come on Spring!!!

Hello to my DRD friends.... I am finally able to announce a website for my business. It is basic, but active. The photos are minimal, but illustrative. There are more to come and it is a work in progress, but it is official now. Please take a look as you pause from your day...absorb some Peace of Nature.... and breathe!!... www.deeplyrooteddesigns.com

One of the downfalls and risks of your own business... personal injury. I have been struggling with a back issue and the challenge of making progress on basically anything. In the absence of projects to post, I sit here on my birthday, thinking how nice it is to have support from people around me. In this post, appreciating my daughters interest in working with me and in this moment, helping with things I normally would handle on my own.

We found a hidden visitor this Fall while doing some property work at DRD Head Office. Just checking out the property!!

5 yrs ago today.....this logo sculpture was created for Genevieve at The Refuge - Oshawa Youth Centre. 11 separate pieces of various wood all brought together and shaped/ carved for one purpose. What a great experience.

Looking back at some new projects from this year... Love the variety in this property.

Deeply Rooted Designs 31.03.2020

Greetings friends... Long time since posting... We finished our home office walkway this Summer. Everything was repurposed except the decorative chipped marble. Thankyou to our new associate, Aaron and his guys from GO Green Lawn sprinklers and lighting. The lighting is amazing and the sprinklers perfect.

Hello Facebook... busy Summer and very little posting! This photo is an example of a larger project. Initial work shows how full this property was when I began. Everything was growing into each other...like one big shrub. The individual shrubs were over grown and dry on the inside. The ground was damp with leaves and some mold areas but the earth below was dry. Lack of water, air, and sunlight getting through would eventually cause suffocation. Step 2.... some time to rejuvenate and continue next Spring!

Good morning, this is something to share that is a little more in tune with Deeply Rooted Designs. This piece is a custom project for a residential foyer as a corner unit to organize and store various items as you come and go. According to my client, it is also art that sits against the wall versus hangs on the wall! This rustic, country feel, brings cottage to her home!

This week has been very busy in the shop trying to complete some ongoing projects, but since we finally have some rain, I thought I would take a moment to update on another Decks Out Back project. This renovation was an old rotting elevated deck in Pickering. The new deck has been updated with an included storage room below. The evening lighting on this is really nice.

Evening all, I should not let July go by without posting something. I am way behind in this aspect but only because I have been too busy to think about this....SO..... where shall I start... Ok, next project since last post.... I have a quick little Decks Out Back project to share today... more to come. You will notice the small zoomed in photo.... that is a custom hatch to access water shutoff, and deck window to allow light into basement.

Deeply Rooted Designs 28.01.2020

Waiting on some material to be delivered for a couple other projects.... This affords the time to start and complete another fairly simple job....a quick tearout and then 2 days later, a new replacement. This low level deck creates some great open space and larger entertainment area, with moveable bench for added seating and aide in bordering the deck front. Another Decks Out Back design.

Spring is not cooperating with us much but luckily there are more pharmacy renos to keep busy and not stress over snow in April!! This pharmacy job is another Ticon Building Corporation project, in Oakville, and these images are a beginning phase to further work on shelving displays and flooring, etc. These current images display consultation room with pocket door and bi-fold door. You can also see the various counter spaces, and wall units in the background. The process from start to finish is sometimes overnight and over a few nights but in the end it looks like a completely different store.

Deeply Rooted Designs 03.01.2020

Time for the next Pharmacy install... another Ticon Building Corporation project, this time in Midland This is a brand new install but we caught the process midstream with the millwork on a weekend excursion.

Deeply Rooted Designs 25.12.2019

Good evening, this post is the finished look at the renovated pharmacy in Mississauga. The retail side has been flipped with the dispensary and consultation which creates better layout and more affordable room for customers. Merchandise has been re-shelved, and business, which was ongoing throughout renovation, is now fully operational. Great work by Ticon Building Corporation!!

Deeply Rooted Designs 19.12.2019

Hello again... so, I am introducing Ticon Building Corporation our newest affiliation during the winter indoor business. Ticon is family operated, and cares like family! I am proud to say I have found another business that treats their customers and their work with the standards that people can be proud to talk about. This first project is in Mississauga, renovating a pharmacy and creating new retail areas and upgrading the modular systems within the store. This is the early stage of Phase 1...

Deeply Rooted Designs 13.12.2019

Big snow today...plans changed.... so, this is an official WELCOME to 2016, and our Canadian Winter. Outdoor projects have definitely come to an end, and everything will be indoors for the next few months. We will have some photo updates along the way, and look forward to future projects and new custom ideas.

One more Decks Out Back project for 2015 season...last minute request by the landscaper. A couple trips to Toronto during our nice Spring Winter, Garth and I enhanced this little alcove that almost silences the horns and sirens around it. This smaller, cozy deck is clad in cedar including the trim and skirting around to the garden wrap! IT has a nice storage area underneath and new landscaping. Best of all, it smells amazing!

Deeply Rooted Designs 22.11.2019

This Pickering project is relatively completed but just needs to have siding on the walls below. In the Spring, the underneath will be completed, but for now, we can share the renovation and the new upper deck with railing, stairway, and lights. The original deck was as close to a hazard as possible without anyone experiencing injuries! We caught this renovation at a good time and have created a broader, more secure entertainment area. Decks Out Back Safety Tip: Never wait for your old deck to fall apart before replacing it!!

Deeply Rooted Designs 20.11.2019

Adding another Decks Out Back project we completed in Whitby. No ladders, just tired backs! The before photo was not taken as it was just back yard from the back door.... no deck to tear out! This new deck spans a fair distance from back door to additional octagon. Owners now have the winter to decide the landscaping and what will sit upon the octagon decking.

Our post, 10 days ago, has reminded some of our followers of the business logo we re-created for The Refuge, Youth Outreach Centre. We have had some inquiries about this wooden sculpture so thought it made sense to share again. This sculpture started as a Tshirt logo sent from Genevieve Brydson at the The Refuge. After some re-designing and creating a 3rd dimension, it started to come to life. 11 pieces of wood, multiple layers, varying stains, and some patience... this logo is on display at their centre in Oshawa.

This week we stopped into the OSEB Annual Trade Show...the last one, due to the government deciding to drop the program! Aside from this, congratulations to Essential Communications, Ian, Tina, Bev, and everyone else at E.C., for putting through 58 groups of entrepreneurs! MY group #48 which happened to be during the 10th anniversary of E.C. (Summer of 2013) was a great experience. I had the opportunity to re-connect with some of those great people this week. Here is another peak at the anniversary gift from Deeply Rooted Designs, presented to Tina and the great people of Essential Communications!

Today I am sharing the most recent project. This is probably one of the most drastic before and after Decks Out Back rejuvenations! IT looks very simple in its Pressure treat transformation, but looks can be deceiving...and atleast it was ground level for a change. No ladders were used in the making of this deck!

Deeply Rooted Designs 12.10.2019

Todays post displays a Decks Out Back project along with a porch out front add-on!! A secondary sitting area to welcome friends and visitors, as well as another spot to follow the sun as it moves around to the west. The back deck is now a bi-level with privacy added to railing and BBQ section. The addition on the home has also been skirted to match the deck, and it has a new access door installed. The front porch has been re-designed and expanded. It maintains the original roof but has been cladded to match the new decking.

Deeply Rooted Designs 24.09.2019

Back in June we shared a new elevated deck with a custom BBQ area and sunshade. Well, now that deck has a custom spiral staircase and the cedar has been coloured matched and stained around the BBQ area, and the framing for the sun shade. Another Decks Out Back one of a kind! This project is coming along beautifully!
