Free Data Recovery for USB Drives!!! We are currently in the testing phase of the upcoming USB Add-on for RapidSpar. USB is a completely different language an...d there is no way to convert USB protocol to SATA, so we had to develop a separate hardware device specifically to handle USB storage. This device is expected to start shipping in September and the price will be $900US. To help with testing this new device, we are looking for any native USB HDDs with read instability and/or firmware issues. Drives with such issues will spin up and sound perfectly healthy (no odd noises like clicking/grinding), but either fail to identify, or do identify but work so slowly that it’s not viable to recover anything. In return for sending us such drives, we can either compensate you with credits which can be used toward anything from the RapidSpar product line, or we can provide you with free data recovery services. Here is the process if you’d like to send us a USB HDD for free recovery: 1) Either reply to this email or email [email protected] with a picture of your drive’s label and a description of what’s happening with it. 2) We will get back to you within 1 Canadian business day to request more information and/or let you know whether we will accept this case. 3) Once your case is accepted, you will need to ship the drive to our office at your expense. Here is the address: DeepSpar, 1884 Merivale Road, Unit 9, Ottawa, Ontario, K2G 1E6, Canada. Together with the drive please send a note with the types of files/folders you need to recover from it (for example Users folder, all .jpg files, etc.). The maximum amount of data we will recover is 100GB. As with any data recovery service, the turnaround time will vary greatly because it depends on the issue the drive has. 4) If we successfully recover your drive, we will make your recovered files available for download via FTP and your drive will not be returned to you to save on shipping costs. We guarantee that once we are finished working on it, we will destroy all data beyond any possibility of future recovery. 5) If we fail to recover your drive (for example if it turns out to have failed heads) and you are located in Canada/USA, we will ship it back to you by DHL at our own expense. If you are located outside of Canada/USA then we can either ship it back and charge the shipping costs directly to your UPS or DHL account, or we can destroy the drive. We are happy to announce a major update to RSA. Here are the biggest additions: 1) Recover files function will now clone all files at once linearly, rather th...an one by one. In other words, instead of reading every fragment of file 1 before moving on to file 2, RSA will combine all fragments together and recover them all at once linearly, which makes the drive spend less time seeking. With this change, speed of recovery of small files without bad sectors is increased by 5 times! Note: if you select Skip files with bad sectors or go directly to Save instead of Recover then files will still be recovered one by one. We will soon be adding a new mode of operation where RSA V2.6 will be able to work only with target drive to save previously recovered files, effectively allowing you to do recoveries in two steps first Recover files to target drive, then disconnect source drive, and Save files from target to your PC. 2) Speed of file tree loading has been increased by 10-30%. 3) HTML file report generation was added (Data Acquisition Add-on required). This function creates an HTML listing showing all the files that were recovered together with their integrity status, which can be used to easily communicate the results of the recovery. Note: RSA directory now contains the CustomerReport-template.html file which can be adjusted to customize the reports (for example by adding your own branding) to make them look professional.
