Check out this brand new Canadian band "Softtrip", featuring two multi-instrumentalists, and a unique neofolk-inspired and somewhat psychedelic sound: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1ucbiroFeJ0Ig64foDro0L One of the band members is a very talented family member of ours with an extensive music background. Watch out for these two! They will have more new material coming soon, and we are excited to see where this goes. #softtrip #neofolk #psychedelic #canadianmusic #canadamusic #newmusic #music #musicreleases #newmusicreleases #spotify #newspotifyartists #newspotifymusic #newspotifyreleases #youtube #cdbaby #musicians #canada #canadianartists
New loud song: https://audiomack.com/song/defcronyke/sunlink It is not on my SoundCloud because I ran out of free space on there, and since I already pay for proper distro for my albums, paying for soundcloud also is low priority and I might not do it.
I am trying a new blockchain streaming platform again. The last one I used called Choon ended up going out of business. This one looks better, hopefully it gains some traction, because so far it pays better than anything else I've been on. It might be subscription-only, or ad supported like Spotify eventually, but I think it's free to join for a few months at the moment. Check it out if you are into crypto and music, lots of great independent music on there already even thoug...h it's still in alpha. And the artists you listen to get paid by the second in some weird cryptocurrency. If you're an artist, I'd recommend checking it out. Because it's still early there is a chance to get well positioned on the platform, and if this one survives capitalism, it could be good for musicians, especially independent musicians. https://emanate.live/defcronyke/socket #emanate #emanatelive #music #streaming #defcronyke #telephonesound #blockchain #emt #eos
I am thinking of making a cover album. Here's an early work-in-progress for it if I decide to actually do it (this will eventually be Climbing Up The Walls by Radiohead): https://drive.google.com/open The rules about releasing covers through my main distributor DistroKid seem to be that you have to pay some processing fee for each cover song (I think it's about $5-10 USD per song), and then they will take care of sending the appropriate amount of royalties to the original ar...tist, probably leaving none left over for me, which is fine, I am just happy if I am allowed to release covers of their music. The caveat is that because of these mandatory licensing requirements, the cover album would not be able to be released for free anywhere, it would only come out on paid streaming platforms or online stores, because each stream or download is supposed to pay the original artist some amount of money. I'm still undecided if I should go through with it. What do you think?
