Website Tip#15 - Make your headline descriptive - Make your headline on your home page and your inside pages descriptive, try to use your key word or key phrase that the user has searched for so they know they are on the right page. Cutesy headlines will just confuse your audience, and have the most important appear above the fold.

Yep, I have to agree with Elon Musk, especially when it comes to navigating websites. KISS (Keep it Stupid Simple) is my motto. That means making it really easy to get to the important stuff minus the head-scratching. In Steve Krug's "Don't Make Me Think" he maintains that if your user has to waste his/her time thinking about where to go next, that's bad design.

Visual hierarchy on a webpage is the order in which you see something based on size, colour, layout and element ie. text, video, image. it can be used to guide the user to perform a task through a call to action. Having certain parts of your page stand out is more pleasing to the eye and makes for better overall design.

I love this quote, to me it sums up what really good design is, especially when it comes to websites and interactive design. The aim is to build something that not only looks good, but is easy to use.

Website Tip#12 - Prominent Call to Action Most websites main purpose is to convert visitors to customers. You need a Call to Action or CTA, that can provide your visitor with the next step to convert.
