The Captain has been implicitly encouraging my to drop my but. Well maybe I should clarify. He’s fine with my one butt but not the other. . Ok that was terrible. Worked much better in my head. Anyway....’but’ is dismissive. ‘And’ is collaborative. So your Tuesday hack is to replace ‘no, but...’ with ‘yes, and...’ (where appropriate) and what the magic that unfolds.... #delicatelydope See more

I love watching kids as they figure out how things work. My boys even. Their focus and curiosity as they practice their game or instrument or explore a new thing. This is something I’m try to do. Working hard to stay curious.

Ok let me explain. In kindergarten, one of my boys, seemed to have a hard time making friends. So his teacher said to us...‘don’t worry about it...just send him to school with a ball. The boy with the ball will always have friends.’... Years later...that shy 3 year old with the ball, has more friends than I care to count (and still always carries a ball ). Making friends can feel difficult. Awkward even. But the basic concept is the same as it is for a 3 years old. Extending a hand of friendship will always be the easiest way make a friend.

Your Dash We all know that poem right? The Dash, by Linda Ellis?... If you haven’t look it up. Loss of any kind typically forces us to re-evaluate. Loss of a life...even more so. We all have one dash. Love it. Live it. #delicatelydope

Here’s where I’m different from you. SometimesI wonder ‘why themwhy not me’ Now I know, you’ve never thought that before. Please don’t judge metoo much.... Sometimes it is hard to see another’s successes. Whatever that may be. Beautiful home. Fancy car. Business success. Perfect kids. Amazing curls. The list can be endless. My unprecedented access to information doesn’t help any. Now it’s right here. In. My. Hand. So I asked myself ‘Selfwhat the dealio?’ Didn’t quite know how to answer that. Then I asked 3 other [easily answer-able] questions: Why does this moment matter? What can I learn from this moment? How can I be content in this moment? Just going through those questions allow me to guide this over-thinking brain of mine into calmer waters. The culture is ripe for comparisonbut disruption with contentment is possible. One moment at a time.
