DLC Scholarship/Bursary Program Fall 2016 Students who are applying for the Fall semester of 2016 to post-secondary institutions, you can apply for the Deline Land Corporation Scholarship & Bursary Program for funding assistance to aid you in your education goals.... Deadline for the Scholarship/Bursary Application is TODAY @ 5PM. TO BE ELIGIBLE for the Scholarship/Bursary program, the students must be: * Enrolled as a beneficiary in the Sahtu Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement with the DLC. * Accepted as a full-time student in an accredited University, College, or in a certificate diploma program * To be considered for the Scholarship, students must have a minimum average of 70% or equivalent (C+) ALL APPLICANTS must have a complete DLC Scholarship & Bursary application form filled out with the following supporting documents: * Cover Letter (statement of intent) * Letter of acceptance from the Registrar's office of the post-secondary institute. * Transcripts/statement of grades from previous learning institutions. * Two (2) letters of reference. Deline Beautification Contest Deline Got’ine Government / Deline Land Corporation will be hosting a COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION CONTEST for local members. Please clean your yard, cut your grass, showcase your flowers during the Deline Got’ine Government event from September 6, 7, 8, 2016. Prizes include... 1st Prize: $1,000.002nd Prize: $800.00 3rd Prize: $500.004th Final Prize: $200.00 Deadline is on Saturday, Sept 5, 2016. Thank you and all the people of Deline who have made us feel so welcome. We are both blown away by the community. Certainly I have never encountered an indigenous community that has itself so together. It was inspirational to us to see what can be maintained with commitment. Congratulations for all of it. I wanted to tell you I was horrified to find I still had the key to my room at the hotel. I'm at my cabin right now and get back to Vancouver on Saturday. I will be sure to send the key back to you then. Again, thanks to everyone for their warm hospitality. We've already eaten some of the grayling and will finish them off this week. My wife gave me hell for not bringing back the lake trout because she loved them when I brought them back last time. But I've told her we have to go back and catch more next March. David
