Try our newest additions to the lineup: Guinness Pork Stew with our homemade Irish Soda Bread and Beef & Mushroom Pie which features tender beef, 6 different mushrooms and Cabernet Sauvignon in a flaky pie. Some people say the NICEST things :-) Here's what one fan of DeliWorks wrote to friends about our Meals to GO Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2020 6:58:54 PM Subject: Helping a Small Business stay afloat... Hello, DeliWorks is a small enterprise serving breakfast and lunches and is situated in Kitchener. In order to keep his business from going under, Angus, the owner, is producing Meals To Go, at very low prices. I have sent the link previously to a few of you but today is the first time I had one of his meals. Dan, my fussy husband, does not like fish, so I seldom cook it. when I saw salmon on the menu I ordered it (Salmon Oven Packet -(Wild Caught Salmon on a bed of Couscous and Mixed Vegetables, with Lemon and Za'atar marinade) for $8.95. It was fantastic and I was stuffed. I did cook it about 10 minutes longer than the required 15 minutes as I had it in the fridge until dinner. I was over half finished when I thought I should take a picture to send to you. His veggies were peppers, red onion, asparagus and green and yellow zucchini. He has other, I am sure, delicious meals and weekly specials. A letter to our valued customers Not everyone is able to work from home. There are thousands of people in our own communities that risk their health to provide the services in your grocery store, pharmacy, gas station and take out restaurants. Please be sure to say a special thank you to all who serve you during these times. In the case of restaurants, many of these employees work for minimum wage or slightly higher. Some of these will be laid off without pay because most sma...ll operators are struggling just to keep the doors open. For small restaurants, many operators cannot afford to use the online delivery companies like Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats who charge the restaurant up to 30% of the bill as well as monthly fees. Most cant take on delivery services personally since they have to be at the restaurants filling line positions left empty by laid off staff. So, as much as possible, they offer take out services to try to keep inventory moving and keep cash flowing to pay wages of those remaining staff. For some, closing the doors isnt an option because if they do, they may never reopen. How you can help Please show your support for those who are trying to keep their businesses going and staff still employed. If you are able, please consider ordering takeout from your favourite restaurants or arrange for meals to go that can be finished / heated at home. If you cant visit in person, consider buying gift cards / vouchers that you can redeem when you return to a more normal routine. This will go a long way to keep your go to place ready for you to actually go to when we get to the end of the tunnel At DeliWorks, we are open and providing take out service between 7:30 am and 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Shortly we will be starting a Meals to Go Menu so that you can get your favourite DeliWorks foods in single or Family Packs ready for you to finish in your home. This is not the first communication youve had about the Covid-19 pandemic, but we wanted to update you regarding the services of DeliWorks as we navigate the quickly changing health directives, guidelines and regulations. Some of our suppliers are experiencing difficulties maintaining their full product lines. Some have cut back their delivery schedules as demands changes and sales volumes fluctuate. We ask for your understanding and patience as we deal with these new cha...llenges. Some restaurants have been forced to close or drastically change their service delivery methods. Some businesses may not be able to overcome these challenges. Hospitality is a tough business with narrow margins. Small, independent foodservice operators and their staff face bleak times when cash flow drops significantly or ends completely when dealing with mandated closure. The extreme measures we all face to flatten the curve and slow the spread of the virus are necessary. We all must do our part in these efforts. DeliWorks is a take out operation and so we will continue to provide service. We have increased our sanitizing frequency and have maintained our high level of hand washing and hygiene as recognized by our health inspection history. We have shortened our operating hours and have adjusted our menu offerings to reflect the new normal as many of our customers now work from home. For those who do come to the Galleria to work, we will try to provide options for you regardless of your schedule. Since 2007, the generous customers of DeliWorks have provided over 28,000 meals with their donations at DeliWorks. This year, the Food Bank of Waterloo Region has set a goal to raise 1/2 MILLION meals during the "Full bellies. Happy Hearts" campaign. Every dollar raised will be matched by the campaign sponsor Allan Bush of CIBC Wood Gundy and this means every dollar will provide 6 meals! Let's help our neighbours throughout the region this summer.
