Happy Thanksgiving :) Hope everyone has a great weekend. We`ll be closed This Thanksgiving holiday weekend... Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Hi Everyone :) Just a heads up notice...If you plan on storing your trailer here this year then we would ask that you call ahead and book it in advance. Thank you :). keep in mind that there`s not enough of us techs to go around this year so......... Please remember to Protect your trailer from water leaks, ice and snow damage! Lack of routine inspection/maintenance is the #1 problem today causing major water damage to your RV roof, walls, floors and other. Mother nature is ...trying to kill your trailer. Inspect your roof and caulk(with dicor)as needed. Wash, wax and UV protect your roof, Lube seals, Gaskets & slide-out rail , inspect/caulk( with rv caulking) doors, windows, hatches etc......look for cracks, openings and potential leaks. Check all exterior lights for openings. Drain ALL the water(h/w tank, sewer, grey and fresh too) and winterize with -100 anti freeze. Cover your tires. keep your tires on planks-off the ground. RV Covers really work well, they are breathable and protect your decals and your investment. The trailer must be stored level(front to back, side to side) or water can get in the slide-outs into the interior of your trailer. And most of all...Keep an eye on snow loads! shovel down to the height of the A/C unit. Never touching the roof! Watch for ice build up! You must be secured to a safety harness to avoid slip and fall. At the end of the day...only you can look after and protect your trailer/investment :) See more
Now open Tuesday to Friday 9 to 5, Sat 9:30 to 1pm...Closed Sundays and Mondays :)
Fall colour flight over Bayview Camp and Delormes RV. Thanks to father and son duo Lavern and Dave Ross(and team) of Essential Helicopters(Canadore aviation training facility at the North Bay Airport) for taking us up!.
General Winterize check list for all new and used: All water removed including outside shower,(by-pass in winter mode)hot water tank, plumbing, water pump, grey water tank, fresh water tank and sewer. Dont forget the ice maker in the fridge if applicable. Antifreeze(minus 100) ran through all taps, drains, toilet and all other plumbing.... Drain all antifreeze.remove water filters and canisters. remove lower gravity drains then put back in place. Roof, moldings and all exterior marker lights examined for cracks and openings, caulk and seal with proper RV sealant where needed. cover all roof vents. Inspect doors, windows and hatches for any gaps, adjust where needed. Remove all food and drinks from the trailer. mouse proof if needed.put blankets and such in totes.remove all mouse nesting products like toilet paper etc.... never use food or baits/poison to attract mice to a trap. it only brings in more mice. use bounce sheets and or cloves to repel mice. Cover trailer tires. remove battery and take home to fully charge. Cover power tongue jack motor. Roll up all extension cords and put away.lock compartments. keep an eye for snow load during the winter. we allow up to 3 feet of dry snow before removing. we never shovel down to the roof top. we use the air con unit as a guide, leave snow on the roof up to the top of the air con. unit. look up for dead trees and tree limbs that could hit your trailer. never tarp a trailer.....causes ice build up on roof. always use a breathable RV cover so the trailer can breath. you can open a side window slightly to help reduce sweating over the winter. we are open year round for any questions.
Killer extension cords.... Far too many melt downs occurring and mostly due to small/improperly used extension cords and/or step down 50, 30, 20 to 15 amp adapters. Your trailers today are usually 30 amp panels that come with a 25 foot 10/3 electrical cable with a 3 prong plug in at the end.The trick is to try and find a post close enough to plug your trailer in direct to a 30 amp post without adding extension cords. Well we all know it rarely works out that way. So.... alwa...ys remember to match the size of the RV extension cord with the size of the Rv Main electrical cord. And never go over 50 feet total! All of these tips will help the flow of voltage, amperage and avoid the nasty Voltage drop and amperage starvation causing plugs to melt, fire, Converters from burning out and well you get the picture.:) keep in mind that your RV step down amperage adapters cause resistance and if improperly mismanaged will cause melt downs! Your friendly digital display voltage/ amperage surge protector can and will save you from many of these common problems. See more
This year protect your investment with Surge Guard. When you plug your trailer into the camp post, How will you know if the Camp power supply is safe? has enough voltage and amperage? never assume! The Surge Guard will monitor voltage, Amperage, bad wiring, poor ground and even protect your trailer from brown outs, power surges and much more! The digital display will tell you everything you need to know and save you hundreds and/or thousands of dollars in repairs and needless frustration! You can find these and other models at Delormes RV :)
