Today we received a super sweet donation from the Sunshine Hills Parent Participation Preschool of a multitude of hand-made self-care kits. All the bags were handmade by one of the grandparents and the children painted on them. They also included a few bags of hand-made face masks and a box of diapers. What a wonderful gift that we can give to those in need in our community. Well done and thank you.

Deltassist volunteers are still here to help with Income Tax Tax season is over but you still have some time to file still. Many people do not know that they need to file a tax return in order to receive the GST/HST tax credit or the Canada Child Tax Benefit. Filing a tax return on time is important when receiving other benefits such as the Guaranteed Income Supplement for seniors, MSP Premium Assistance and Pharmacare. This year you have until August 31st to file in order... to keep your benefits in place, failure to file means no more benefits! If you live in Delta, are low-income, have a simple return (please call our office if you are unsure our limitations on tax returns) and either unable to complete your income tax and benefit return yourself or pay for assistance, Deltassist volunteers are here to help. Volunteers receive training through Canada Revenue Agencys Community Volunteer Income Tax Program and are able to complete tax returns for 2019. If you are needing help filing those taxes please call one of our offices to discuss the procedure for dropping off your information. Please note due to COVID-19 we will not meeting in person for completion of your taxes. South Delta residents please call 604-946-9526, North Delta residents please call 604-594-3455 and one of the staff will walk you through the new procedure for filing with Deltassist.
