Posted @withregram @ladnervillagephysio We have teamed up with @deltavillagechiropractic to sponsor a local family through @mamasformamas ! This national charity supports mamas and caregivers in crisis and we are stoked to help bring some much needed Christmas joy to a family needing a boost. Want to help? Come on by and grab a tag off our front desk - each one has a Christmas gift for one of the kids in the family. Bring back the tag and donated item to us before December 12th - we will wrap it up and get it to Mamas for Mamas so this family can have some gifts under the ! #happyholidays #merrychristmas #startingtheholidaysearly #seasonofgiving #deltabc #ladner #ladnerisawesome #ladnerisaplace #ladnerbc #tsawwassen #tsawwassenbc

Thank you @thebirthhive for this amazing post! Posted @withregram @thebirthhive If you're looking for proactive ways to get your mind and body for birth, you're in the right place 'cause this is my JAM! ... 1 I want your pelvis balanced + aligned so that we can give your baby the best chance to maneuver into the best position for easy passage BEFORE your labour starts. Schedule three visits at 37, 39, 41 weeks with a Webster's Certified chiropractor (you can always cancel). 2 Several times a day, make your body go limp from your forehead all the way down to your toes. That total physical body relaxation helps with progression during birth. Figure out how to do it on demand now, so that you can apply it during labour. 3 Consuming dates is said to help shorten your overall birth - and this is actually backed by evidence. Just make sure you're actually eating dates and not PRUNES like I did for 5 weeks 4 Spinning Babies' inverted triangle is another daily practice to help encourage baby into good positioning (visit www.spinningbabies.com for demo). 5 Ideally, you've already seen a Pelvic Floor physio at around 28 weeks. This refresher visit is important so they can review your pelvic floor tone and pushing strategies. Yeah - your doula/doc/nurse can help with pushing strategies but a pelvic floor physio? They're experts. 6 Stay active. That means walking, sitting on a birth ball, stretching, doing squats, etc. Laying around on the couch all day is nice but it does nothing to proactively prepare your body for birth. Sorry, not sorry. 7 Positive Birth Stories ONLY - whether online or offline. Someone's got something less than stellar to say? Now is not the time. Shut. That. Down. Blame it on me if you need to! 8 Regularly spend time on your hands and knees (or leaning over a chair). We're using gravity to pull the heaviest part of baby (their head) downwards. See more

Office hours this week! With all the stress and uncertainty right now, our physical and mental health need to be our number one priority. The hard truth is, you cannot take care of others if you do not take care of you first! Go for a walk, talk to a friend, make that appointment you have been putting off, do something your body will thank you for. We think you are worth it! We are at the table all week for your chiropractic needs.

Fall is here! Fun fact, this is my favorite season! This year has been challenging for ALL of us! However, lets focus on tje good that fall brings us like pumpkin spiced lattes, gorgeous outdoor colours, and comfy sweaters. Fall is also a great time to reflect on our goals and take some small steps towards them. This opportunity for new breathe can feel exciting and inspiring. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the next few months * * * 1. Eat more balanced food ...- I have heard many of you use the phrase I have gained that covid 15. You are not aline . I recommend incorporating the 80:20 rule. Eat healthy 80 percent of the time so you can indulge some on a few of your favorite foods 20 percent of the time * * 2. Get rest - 8 hours of sleep every night is ideal to feel rested and energized for the next day. Avoid electronics before bed. * * Get outside - this is the best time to get some fresh air and move your body. The cooler weather means layer up and whether you are a runner or walker, just move your body for 30 min a day or more * * 4. Mediate - Find a few moments to allow your mind to quiet down and for you to just breathe. There are apps like Headspace and Calm that can help guide you. Remember, anxiety is real and taking time to calm your nervous system is just as important as maintaining physical health. * * 5. Self care - Do something that your body will thank you. Chiropractic care isnt just about the crack. Our job is to listen to your body and move it in a way that allows for the most release. Whether its a manual adjustment, laser therapy or soft tissue release we will allows do what makes sense for YOU! I hope this helps and makes you feel inspired to do something you. I think you are worth it! See more
