Labour Day weekend is here and Demeter Catering is celebrating the labour of local farmers and food producers. On Saturday September 5th, we will be at the Marc...he Pontiac Market, 2024 rte. 148, Luskville. Between 10 and 3. On the menu: Moylinney Farm beef burgers, on a homemade brioche bun with a variety of home made sauces; ultra decadent Sour Cream and Onion Potato Salad, Siri's Cabbage Slaw, and Apple Cider Cake. Come get it hot at the Market or order ahead: dinner for four (patties ready to grill), salads and cake. $60.
Sunday Dinner for those stuck at home. Demeter Catering is offering roast chicken dinner. We have chicken, raised by local farmers, so they are big birds and full of flavour. Chicken pieces roasted with lemon, garlic and rosemary. Roast potatoes and maple glazed carrots round out the main. $15 per person. Old-fashioned ginger cake for dessert $3 per person. Delivered to your door in the Luskville/Quyon area, late Sunday afternoon.
It's going to be chilly on Thursday, but the fire will be blazing and the tunes will be hot. Come out and see Ryan McNally, visiting Luskville from the Yukon. Concert is at 7. There are still some spots available for dinner: House-made charcuterie, piquillo cheese toasts, slow-roasted pork, buttery roasted winter veg, and a zingy green salad. Demeter Catering will be at Savoir Faire tommorrow in the Luskville Community Hall. We've prepared some hearty soups: Split Pea and Ham with Winter Greens, and luscious Spinach Dal. There will be freshly baked scones, some tasty spreads for crackers and I will take orders for custom Christmas baking. Oh and the fruit cakes.
Christmas Fruit Cakes. More fruit and nuts than cake really so quite good for you. Packed with dried fruit, lots of nuts and no artificially coloured cherries or peel. This year made with eggs from Pure Conscience Farm. Three kinds to choose from: traditional British with hazelnuts, raisins, sultanas, dried cherries, figs, cranberries and currents and hint of orange zest and seasoned with brandy; Tropical rum cake with dried pineapple, apricots cashews and almonds; and new ...this year fruit and stout cake, currents, raisins and dried plums cured with dark stout beer. We are getting ready for the Country Fair at Luskville Falls. Our friend Blake has provided a gorgeous turkey so there is Turkey Stew with Greens and Turkey Tacos on the menu. As well as Beef and Vegetable Chili made with Moylinney Farm Beef. For the vegetarians we have Roasted Butternut Squash and Apple Soup and Coconut Ginger Dal with Apple. Pumpkin Spice muffins and Blueberry muffins as well as our popular scones will be there for the breakfast crowd. Come and have a taste.
It's Burger Time! This weekend at the Marche Pontiac, we will be grilling Reford Beef pasture-raised burgers. Taste the difference quality beef makes. There will be a choice of homemade toppings like our special sauce and creamy cheeses sauce, as well as all the usuals. For this month's Pontiac Market we are inspired by the heat and will be bringing Southern BBQ to Pontiac. We will be smoking some Moylinney Farm pasture-raised beef, Texas style; and serving it up on a bun with crispy slaw and creamy garlic-scape potato salad. To wash it down home-made strawberry lemonade. For vegans we will have sweet potato and bean burritos, and breakfast burritos for the early birds. For the sweet tooth white chocolate-raspberry ripple mini cheesecakes. At the Luskville Community Centre. Eat there or take home for dinner. 10% discount if you bring your own container.
We will be at the Marché Pontiac Market tomorrow, June 1st. On the menu: ham and cheese biscuits, cream scones with homemade strawberry jam, chocolate Guinness cup cakes and these healthy breakfasts - veggie pancakes with maple glazed bacon and carrot fritters in a lemony green salad.

Working on the menu for the Foire champĂȘtre de Pontiac at Luskville Falls this weekend. We will have locally pasture-raised meatballs in a homemade roasted tomato sauce and Slow-roasted pasture-raised pork shoulder. As well as Sweet-potato and black bean burritos, Spinach Dhal, and Roasted butternut Squash and Apple soup.
