Easy running is seemingly an imperative part of this wonderful sport. . . I have been running for the past 2 years. It is only as of the past few weeks that I have become more interested in running more efficiently; learning about form and how to avoid the many injuries I’ve dealt with on this road. .... . It’s easy to get caught up! Checking my times, heart rate, cadence; am I heel striking? Am I taking too big of steps, too little? Are my hips leading? Is my head in line? Am I breathing shallow? Too much breathing? The list goes on... . . My efficient runs have allowed me to practice and toy with proper running form and it’s helped a tremendous amount in a short period of time. . . However, I have always run as a form of personal therapy and thoughtless meditation practice. I finally got back to that today. For the first time in the past few weeks, I didn’t check my watch even once and it felt liberating as it always has before. . . Remember why you run, cycle, swim, or train in the first place.
