As many of you already know, yesterday was a sad day for Mount pleasant, a fire destroyed a number of businesses and living spaces near Main and Broadway. As we gather more information we'll keep you updated about who was affected and how we can help those people recover. This is already a difficult time in the world and our thoughts are with the people who's lives have been changed by this event. The fire also came dangerously close to one of the few remaining buildings that... house a number of artists studios and gallery spaces. It serves as a reminder of just how scarce these spaces are right now and how difficult it is for creative people to find places to work and exhibit. With the new UBC line breaking ground soon, this neighborhood has and will continue to change dramatically in a short period of time. We need artists to keep this city alive and vibrant, and those artists need places to work and show. A huge thank you to @vancouverfirefighters @vanfirerescue for putting their lives on the line to save this historic and culturally significant part of our city. Thank you. Thank you.
