Let's talk about Sugar. Sugar isn't only hiding inside candy bars, the number one source of sugar kids ingest is through you guessed it Juice. Juice is loaded with sugar, even if there is "No Sugar Added".... The bacteria inside our mouths feed off these sugars and then produce acid which can break down enamel and lead to cavities and tooth decay. It's important that parents limit juice, and sugar intake, whenever possible. We recommend no more than 4-6oz per day, with meals.

Most people don't know, but... Milk is one of the BIGGEST sources of sugar in a child's life. Excess sugar in the mouth leads to a build up of bad bacteria, which leads to, - you guessed it - tooth decay and cavities. ... Dr. Farida Saher at Dental Care For Children recommends that children should drink Milk as a part of a healthy diet, but always accompany it with a meal. Do you have any questions on oral health?
