A message to our patients: Our office is temporarily closed for routine dental treatment, as are numerous dental offices across the province. This decision was not ours alone to make. We were instructed by The College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, with direction by The Office of the Provincial Health Officer, to only provide emergency dental treatment. "In dentistry, a true emergency situation includes oral-facial trauma, significant infection, prolonged bleeding ...or pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medications": Source: RCDSO Please contact our office at 604 585 2345 and we will conduct a pre-treatment risk assessment by phone, prior to scheduling an appointment. Our priority is your health, your families' health, the health of our dentists, staff and our families. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these challenging times. Sincerely, The Dental Group at Central City

We have talked about this and you might be surprised with the fact that #flossing can be more important and useful than #brushing. However, we want to keep you informed: Next time you reach for your toothbrush, remember to reach for your floss as well. The simple habit of flossing at least once a day may improve not only your smile, but your overall health, too.

5 summer tips for healthy teeth This summer, stay hydrated and healthy. But think carefully when you choose your beverage some drinks can increase your risk of tooth decay. Drink water - Keep your mouth moist by drinking water throughout the day. This helps wash away plaque-causing bacteria and can even improve your breath.... Choose tap- Fluoridated tap water strengthens your enamel, making your teeth more resistant to decay. Skip the bubbles - The acid in carbonated drinks can wear down your enamel. Use a straw - If you drink acidic beverages, reduce their contact with your teeth by using a straw and finishing the drink quickly, instead of sipping over a long period of time. Try tea - Tea contains compounds that suppress bacteria, slowing down tooth decay and gum disease.
