It does seem strange, two motorcycle tanks with very similar dents in as many weeks. Normally I might have the opportunity to repair about 15 motorcycle tanks in one year, but this year I’ve already repaired 26. Apparently word must be getting around that bike tanks can be repaired and there just happens to be someone crazy enough to do the work. LOL I would like to thank Randy at Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson for referring this customer to me for repair. It takes a lot of trust for a shop to recommend a sublet style job for a customer, without knowing exactly what the end result will be. I’m glad I was able to meet and exceed their expectations.

Haven’t posted up any repair photos in a little while, but we have been busy. Once again motorcycle season is upon us, and another fellow biker was in need of some assistance. I really do enjoy a challenge and this was both a sharp dent, and I struggled with finding some access to the inside of the tank, and leverage. With necessity being the mother of invention, I managed to come up with both, AND made a new tool just for fixing this dent. Rylan, the owner of the bike had... asked around and apparently my name came up on numerous occasions from a a number of people, and that I was the only one to trust with motorcycle tank. It’s nice when you’re previous customers think highly enough of your skills to recommend you to others. Thank you Rylan for not only being willing to believe enough in my abilities, but also for trusting me enough to repair your tank. Being a fellow biker, I understand the anguish that ensues from damaging your bike, the added angst created when trying to figure out what to do, and where to go to fix the problem. Another happy customer served and ready to ride.

Well, another day, and another fellow biker with an oops. I find few things to be as disheartening as a motorcycle with a dent in the fuel tank, and being a fellow biker, I just had to give this one a try. Whatever hit the side of this tank had a sharp edge and as a result left a very VERY sharp crease in the tank. With a whole lot of patience and perseverance, VOILA, we have another satisfied customer. Thanks for the job Dylan and I hope we don’t have to see you again too soon.

Well it has taken a couple hours to work our magic, but I think the results speak for themselves. I do believe we will have another happy customer.

Well, even with all the smoke and ash, we’re still hard at work here at Dentique. Today in Kelowna, I just have a TINY project to fix. The fuel tank from this classic Yamaha is TINY, and the dent is a tad deep but we can do it. I’ll post the after picture once she’s finished. We’ve added some after photos of the repairs to the Yamaha tank including some before and after photos with the fuel tank installed. Doesn’t really matter what kind of vehicle, if you have a dent in your baby, you owe it to yourself to bring it down to our shop and let one of our skilled technicians have a look.

Motorcycle season is almost upon us and I, like many other fellow bikers, can hardly wait to get my baby back on the road. Of course nothing feels worse than having an aerodynamic blemish in the tank of your precious steed. Especially when it’s on the top of the tank and it stares at you. Another satisfied customer, and a MUCH shinier tank to boot. Here at Dentique, I can’t just fix the dent, I’m honor bound to polish the scuffs out as well, even it means doing the whole tank. LOL.
