To all of our valued patients, All of us at Dentistry on Wellington wish you and your family health and safety during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. We thank everyone for bearing with us as we try to navigate the changing environment that Covid-19 continues to cause. Our main priority is and has always been maintaining the health and safety of our patients and staff. We will continue to keep you updated on new developments as they come. We continue to be available to... all of our patients by email ([email protected]) should you have any questions or concerns. That being said, below is a series of recent developments for your information that may directly affect you and your family. -Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says it is permitting lenders to allow deferred mortgage payments on loans the Crown corporation guarantees. (This is the insurance against default lenders take when people who purchase homes have less than 20% down). -An emergency care benefit for workers who don’t qualify for employment insurance to help with food and rent. -Credit available to farmers and the agri-food sector will be boosted through Farm Credit Canada. -The government is also placing a six-month moratorium on student loan payments. The Ontario government has confirmed they will not allow for evictions during this time should people not be able to pay their rent. -Families receiving the Child Care Benefit will see an increase of $550 on average, with an additional $300 per child as part of the May payment. For renters, an emergency aid package includes $27-billion in direct support to help pay for things like rent or grocery bills. -For parents who have lost daycare services, government will introduce the emergency care benefit which will provide money every two weeks to workers who have to stay home for 14 weeks for an amount comparable to the amount that would be paid through EI. -The deadline for filing T1 returns that were due on April 30, 2020 has been extended to June 1, 2020. -We will be updating everyone on any new developments as they come and we hope that this will soon be behind us so that we can get back to seeing everyone in the office very soon. To all of our valued patients, As we continue to closely monitor the events related to the Covid-19 situation around the city, province and country as a whole, we have received notification from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario advising that all dental offices suspend all non-essential and elective services effective March 16th. This decision will be re-evaluated by regulatory bodies in the first week of April to determine next steps. If you have a scheduled ap...pointment in the next 3 weeks you will be hearing from Laura or Rayvine to reschedule (if you haven’t heard from them already). We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but the safety of our staff and patients takes utmost priority during this time. We very much appreciate your understanding and patience during this unprecedented time. We will be monitoring email closely and will likely be the best way to communicate with us during this temporary closure. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at [email protected].
