Forte Kente Road, an indigenous portage route across the isthmus of Prince Edward County, links the Bay of Quinte to Lake Ontario allowing great lake travellers to avoid the treacherous route around the south shore of PEC. Dakota Hill, age 10, has been part of the Walking with Thunder project from the launch of our monthly walks in October 2020. Taught by mentor, artist @sharontmurphy to use Nikon 5000 and 7100 cameras, here with ====\\DeRAIL he shares his thoughts on photography, covid and being part of something. My best hobby is doing photography with Sharon T Murphy. When Conrad said that he was going to do a walk with a donkey I thought, well, that’d be some nice pictures. And I just s...tarted coming on the walks, talking to my grandma about skipping school for weekdays and doing the walks. On the trail with Conrad there’s people there each time and they’re all social distancing, you can get pictures of them, and it’s really good to entertain people and to come and just be a part of something. I do work for my school in photography, like for the Terry Fox Run and track and field. Somehow, I had to run and take pictures! I do a lot for my school. I also created some of CML’s merch - the CML shirt and stuff. I helped them out on that design, helped them get it printed, get it going, and I’ve been going along from there. It all depends on what you’re trying to take a picture of. a lot of people wouldn’t see the stuff that some people see, like me. Pictures, faces, especially near sunsets where you have a bunch of people there with you, it makes you feel really happy that you’re getting those people together to just come out and take pictures with you.
