From peri-menopause to post-menopause, the skin will loose approximately 30% of it’s collagen. This will continue at a rate of 1-2% per year for the following years. So what should you do? 1.Eat a healthy high protein, high fibre diet.... 2. Drink lots of water and add electrolytes during the hot flashes and heavy sweating phases. 3. Take appropriate supplements. 4.Up your skin care game. Use medical/professional grade ingredients such as Vitamin C,E, Retinol, Hyaluronic acid, Peptides. 5.Have micro-current and exfoliating facials to reeducate the muscles and stimulate cell turnover. 5.LED light therapy for collagen production 6.Explore cosmetic injections. 7.Exercise and sweat regularly. 8.Get restful sleep. 9.Reduce stress and cut out alcohol. 10.Do all the self care! This is a major change to your body and it requires lifestyle changes to keep symptoms to a minimum. #menopause #hormonesbalance #agingskintips #collagen #beautyatanyage

I did 18 Facials this week! The most common complaints were of skin feels tigh, looks dull and is sensitive. Yes I sell products for that and you need to use them daily. But the most common issue is deep dehydration. when I ask how much water are you drinking the answer is usually ah, well... not as much as I should, or I don’t drink water at all. Guys! Your body is 85% water, it is absolutely essential for it to function properly. Here are some things that happen to a dehy...drated body: 1. Fatigue and brain fog. 2. Constipation,UTI’s 3.Brittle hair and nails. 4. Skin get dull, rough and tight feeling. 5.Oil production increases to form a barrier against further moisture loss. 6.Blood vessells dilate, increase in redness and sensitivity. 7.Bumps,clogging -and slow healing. 8. Water retention, bloated belly. 9.Dry eyes, nose and mouth. 10.Increase in fine lines, cracked lips, sagging skin. *Remember, when you feel thirsty, that means you are already quite dehydrated. Think of yourbody as a plant, it’s actually quite similar. It needs vitamins, minerals, sunshine and water. Are you a lush green plant or one with dry, shriveled up leaves? Drink up

Acne Mechanica is a type of Acne caused by friction, sweating and tight clothing. It is very common on the buttocks and back of thighs, but Covid mask wearing has created a flood of it. What to do? It depends. Your overall skin type will determine my choice of treatment and products. Most acne preparations are very drying and exfoliating. I have seen recommendations of spraying the inside of your mask with alcohol or Salicylic acid... what? Oh great if maybe you won’t need... your lips or nose in a few weeks Can you imagine breathing in that stuff all day long? This is when a customized skin care routine and in clinic treatments become necessary. A few of my favorites are a combination of a calming cleanser, exfoliating toner and antibacterial and redness reducing serums and mask. Agressive products will cause TEWL (trans epidermal water loss) and destroy the skin’s microbiome and hydrolipidic barrier if you are not usually oily or in cold dry weather. A few favorites from @skinceuticalsca are: Soothing cleansing Foam LHA Toner Phytocorrective Gel serum Phytocorrective Mask Derma-V night cream and Foaming cleanser from@vivier In Clinic: Vivier chemical peels LED light therapy. Teenage Acne. It is the trickiest too treat because the hormones are just gearing up. You cannot cure it or get ride of it completely. Professional in clinic treatments, diet modifications and age appropriate products can improve things. I saw this client last Friday ans did a mini treatment that consisted of Celluma blue LED light, ultrasonic spatula and extractions and a bit of nutrition counseling and the photo speaks for itself. #skincarechemistry #teenacnetreatment #cellumalighttherapy #skinceuticalsproducts #clearskingoals

Microcurrent Facials are great for plumping the skin,re-educating the muscles and increasing the ATP(energy) within the cells. In this case,it is also increasing the serum penetration from the collagen sheet mask. #microcurrentfacial #musclebuilding #musclestimulation #fancyfacials #zemitsadvanceesthetic #zemits #firmingmask #sheetmasks
